Gelateria Pasticceria Dei Mille

On a rather chilly Friday I was in need of warming up a bit. This place located on the central Piazza Vecchia in the old town in Bergamo was advertising hot chocolate. So I stopped off and ordered one. For 2,50€ you get a small cardboard beaker with very thick, sticky hot chocolate. I sat outside to rest my legs and watch the world go by.

Pretty good, standard italian ice cream. Great location and nice service. Unfortunately for us, the experience was ruined by a rude customer.

We ate homemade ice cream. Really great taste, very good ice cream. But we ate breakfast at this place too. They have ready-made sandwiches with typical Italian ingredients . You can eat them cold or warm. They were quite tasty and filling. They have also very good fresh juices. If you want ice cream or sandwich in Bergamo Alta this is the perfect place, on Piazza Vecchia.

They have gluten free from almost all tastes (except tiramisu and one more maybe). they asked if cross-contamination is a problem for me, and when I said yes, they brought two different spoons for the two gf eis I asked and it is very tasty!

The personal is really knowledgeable! that is true that they have two different containers every taste, so they can feel really safe. there are no traces and there is no possibility to cross-contamination with two different boxes. the cones are also packaged individually and separately. eis are absolutely tasty, quality and taste are comparable to Grom’s gelato (or even better).
