Top service, fast, efficient and friendly! The quantity and quality are there. The only problem, a very thin card. If you like burgers it's great without that, the choice is complicated. Little crush on homemade absinthe ice cream. View all feedback.

To escape from busy Lausanne take the small regional train up to the final stop: Bercher. From here you can start many walks through the beautiful campagne vaudoise countryside of Vaud. I stopped for lunch at Bourlatsapi, which proved a very good choice. As a café restaurant Bourlatsapi welcomes everybody whether for just a quick coffee, a simple snack or a full gourmet meal. The dining room is comfortable but small, therefore advance booking recommended. On my visit most of the guests seemed to be regulars, which is always a good omen. The à la carte menu is limited with focus on fresh produce. I chose the four course fixed menu: all portions were quite generous and beautifully set up. As starter I had the scallops carpaccio with lemon seasoning fresh and tasty. This was followed by salmon in a chanterelles creamy soup fish perfectly prepared, delicate and tasty veloute. The main course was duck breast in a honey and ginger sauce, served with sautéed rice. Again very tasty. Fortunately I still had some room left for the delicious dessert: plums cinnamon duo i.e. plums mousse and cinnamon sorbet. Very slight disappointment: As I visited mid September I would have expected a few venison dishes on the menu... Prices remain pleasantly moderate despite the proximity to Lausanne. The bill amounted to CHF75, of which CHF63 for the set price menu. Bourlatsapi definitely deserves being discovered.
