The Blue Front is a living piece of American music history — the last original juke joint on Highway 49 in Bentonia, MS — run for decades by bluesman Jimmy Duck Holmes. Intimate, raw and steeped in storytelling, it serves up Bentonia-style blues, affordable drinks, a handful of home-style food and CDs for sale. Train whistles and impromptu jams add to the atmosphere; on weekends and special events it becomes a festivallike celebration of community, heritage and gritty, authentic live music.

I visited the Blue Front today and had a lovely conversation with Jimmie. I grabbed a copy of Cypress Grove and a tasty order of chili with crackers to go. You can’t go wrong at Jimmie’s place. I highly recommend checking it out!

It was a great experience for me.I was born there so was visiting family. My mom went the school with Duck.Will go next year!
This place is an amazing piece of history owned and operated for the last 40 years by Jimmy Duck Holmes. If you're lucky to cross paths with him, he could play a song for you.
