Rancho Grande Mexican Grill

Stopped in for Dinner on our way back from Arizona. Place was lively, lots of families enjoying their meals. I can see lots of margaritas. If I wasn't driving, I would've loved to drink a few.My dining partners ordered rice and beans and fish Tacos. I ordered the mixed beef and chicken fajitas. Oh boy! The portion was Huge?. It's big enough to feed all 3 of us. Lots of left overs. The salsa Verde was one of the best I've ever had.

We ate there several times during our stay, enjoyed every dish. It is truly authentic Mexican food.

There are a lot of great Mexican spots in Bakersfield and I'd heard great things about Rancho Grande, but it just wasn't my favorite. I'll start off with some positives though. Our large party was able to get seated immediately for lunch. They had cute Christmas decor already set up and were quick to provide us with service. Our food came out immediately. The rice and beans with my dish were delicious and really enjoyable. I also liked that the salsa that came with the chips had a nice picante kick to it!I ordered the mole enchiladas and they were a miss. The chicken inside was really dry and the mole wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. It'd be worth trying something else but I wasn't impressed. Their portions are large so it's nice to have a little leftovers, especially given the reasonable pricing.

I had chicken tortilla soup. It was ok but not as good as other places I've been.
