Palermo - Benicia

Honestly, I was ready to evaluate it a 1 star, but one minute took to think about the overall experience. Yes we had a reservation (it was 5 of us) and there was only 1 other table sitting when we sat (2 people). It took 35 minutes to get our drinks order, and that was after we went forward to ask if they would forget us. Shortly after that, our waiter finally made it and explained to us that he was the only waiter tonight and they were almost 2 people in the kitchen. I have up to 4 stars because of his great attitude and personality. The girl that helps him was also very nice and tried her best to be helpful. I know how hard it is to find help right away, and I appreciate these two people (whoever was in the kitchen) for the emergence and holding a great attitude in a situation where they simply stopped and disappeared.

I recommend this business. People are so friendly and helpful. The food was the highlight of our visit. Current conditions Mandate exercise, as this is a smaller place, and one we had not visited yet. We have sampled from the start menu and met some of our favorites. Salmon Dill, Carbonara, Mussels and carrot cake. We live nearby when we drive, and our food was still hot enough to avoid the microwave. Well thought out and well done preparation made for good food! Please try.

I did a blanket search for food in my area because I was super hungry and I was driving so I was unable to look at menu or delve too deeply into researching places. Siri recommended Palermos so I had trusty Siri give them a call. The gentleman who answered my call was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the food menu. He described, with particularity, the 2 vegetarian options available. I decided to try the linguine with tomatoes, spinach and garlic. I was not disappointed. I would have taken a picture, but I devoured it so fast there wasn’t enough time to do so. The portion size was generous and came with a fresh side salad and fresh bread that tasted like it had just been baked that day. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

I have dined here several times and fine the food and service to be consistent and excellent. Value for the portions is very good. It has great atmosphere, reminiscent of of an intimate bistro in San Francisco. The wine selection is acceptable and reasonably priced. The pastas are good and the pizza is always a treat. I often go as a single dinner and have no problem getting a table. Whether dinning alone or with a group this restaurant is highly recommended.
