I visited this restaurant a few years back when I attended my friends' wedding and remembered it and on a recent short holiday decided to visit again. It was so good on our first visit that we visited the next three nights running! The owner Carlos, can not do enough for you. if it is not on the menu, he will make it for you. He has excellent English and can makes the most awesome dishes, from squid to smoked salmon with gin and tonica I kid you not it was divine. Talking of gin and tonica he makes the best in Spain. The pudding of crepes with ice cream and warm chocolate sauce was to die for coupled with the Spanish omelette and the best croquettes. The atmosphere is fabulous and everyone is so utterly charming and friendly. Once you visit once, you will be like us and go back and back. We are going back to Benicassim in September and one of the first places we will visit, once we have dropped off our bags is El Corralet!
We had a selection of tapas calamari and croquettes followed by the chuleton steak special. The food was amazing especially the steak and probably the best in town. Staff and service was excellent and I can’t wait to visit again when I return in September
We are here whilst stopping nearby on a campsite. The food is very good although the cost is probably a little more than average. However this is a restaurant as opposed to a bar serving food. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and had some good fun with the fun lady with the glasses. Mainly because my Spanish is not good and it gave us both a laugh and made the experience all the more enjoyable.
Waitress supplied menus in English and spoke English well enough to get us through the excellent meal. She actually said portion sizes were big and we needed to order less. Octopus and squid dishes were quite simply superb. We dined outside in the street while was nice. Price was very good for the quality of the food and wine recommendations were good too and fairly priced
We came here for a nice meal on our last night as we'd spent 3 nights eating junk at the festival. We wanted to get away from all the British and enjoy a proper meal. We were not disappointed, the staff let us sit under the air con inside and helped understand our tragic attempts of ordering in Spanish. Mussels starter with seafarer sauce was delicious and so much sauce. I had the cod with potato and Parmesan sauce while my partner had steak. Portions were generous, cooked beautifully and well presented. We even squeezed desserts in. All in all, a great experience and perfect for our last night.
