Spring Gully General Store - Bendigo

My fiancé and I have eaten here a few times - good food & coffee (when they remember your order). We arrived at this place on Sunday 23 July at 9.30am. There were hardly any customers and was greeted by the owner with "yep", (Too Kool for Skool wanabe older hipster), we said, "a table for 2 please, and one big enough to put our laptops on" (as we wanted to smash out some work over breakfast and a few coffees). This rude owner said "you can sit at the front bench" and just walked off... I'm told this is the norm for this guy. We said "thank you for your help" and left.WE WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK!

Family of four went for lunch. Something for everyone with some interesting choices such as soft crab burger. Nine year old loved his pizza! Service was good and good coffee. A touch expensive but only a little bit. Would come here again with the kids.

This is the second time I have been here but as there was a bigger group and we were able to try more of the menu, I thought I would upgrade my previous review. The store was extremely busy, but we had reserved seating. There were 8 of us, and we tried several different types of dishes, & all seemed to be very enjoyable. Service prompt, meals nicely presented. Well worth a visit

Location where you would least expect it. My 3rd visit and hubby's first. We eat out frequently and it is refreshing and exciting to read a menu with different fare than usual. We went for lunch and both our meals were delicious and interesting. I had the hot cakes and hubby had the red velvet waffles. We are going back soon to try more of their yummy meals. Staff pleasant but could be more attentive. We told them we wanted our coffee after our meals but none came near us to remove plates and take our coffee orders. Coffee just average. Pleasant ambience, clean including toilets.

My favorite place for afternoon tea really good coffee and cakes nice quick service from waiters..????
