Sintra - Bend
Sintra
Description
Sintra, named after a picturesque Portuguese city, offers a charming atmosphere filled with the enticing aromas of food and coffee. While the service is consistently praised, opinions on the food are varied. Diners have enjoyed dishes like the Monte Cristo, but some found items like the Prego sandwich lacking in quality, bodied by scant ingredients for the price. Breakfast offerings have also faced criticism for being overpriced and underwhelming. However, many loyal patrons appreciate the welcoming ambiance, cheerful staff, and quality drinks, making Sintra a noteworthy stop in the culinary landscape of Bend.

We have had breakfast and lunch at Sintra, but never dinner, so we decided to try it. The remodeled interior is casually sophisticated and the white tablecloths for dinner are a great touch. We were warmly greeted and our server was wonderful in every way. They have a nice cocktail list and many excellent wines. The food was superb! We had the Linguica Assada and arugula salad for starters, then the octopus and the calamari/ seafood entrees. Really outstanding! The wine pairing suggested by our server was perfect as well. We will definitely be back!
We highly recommend it. Word needs to get out that Sintra is open for dinner. Would not want it to go away. Best dinner in town
Lovely, gracious atmosphere. Beautifully remodeled. Interesting menu. HOWEVER, my husband ate octopus and was terribly sick to his stomach in the middle of the night. Ack. That said, we will go again...and avoid many tentacled seafood.
Service is great and the flavors in the dish were good but I’ll probably pass on coming back. I ordered the Prego sandwich, described as having “marinated steak, swiss cheese, with sautéed onions and herb mayo or dijon.” When I received thesandwich I was disappointed, it was such a thin slice of meat and it was more like 2 pieces of a ciabatta (or similar typebread), onions, cheese, herb mayo, and a little meat thrown in. I included photos of my meal. Sintra is a nice establishment togo to for good service and flavors but they just didn’t meet my expectations for a $15+ sandwich.
Named after a city in Portugal, this restaurant has a calming atmosphere, enhanced by the delightful scents of food and coffee in the air, which made for a peaceful experience on an unusually cool summer morning. We opted for takeout as we were just passing through, and I now regret not taking more time to savor my meal. The portion I managed to enjoy was absolutely delicious, and we also had some cold brew coffee that hit the spot. My husband finished his food quickly, which is always a good sign. I love the downtown vibe of Bend and have my go-to spots, but Sintra will definitely be joining that list.
