Roam is a fairly new restaurant to Bend and just needs some time and work to improve their food, menu and service. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were their for dinner. It wasn't a bad meal it just wasn't particularly good and it's pricey. I think some improvement on their menu choices and better execution in the kitchen will make it an enjoyable restaurant in time. We were seated in a little room and the acoustics were terrible. It was so noisy that we could barely hear each other talk. I will try to go there for lunch and check it out. I'm glad that they've opened but I'll wait to go back for dinner until I see some improvement.
Too loud. People were literally yelling. Love the decor. Food was not as good as the prices let on. Steak was cold. Chicken was tender juicy. It has potential we hope they work out the kinks.
Despite calling ahead to confirm our price fixe menu for and receiving assurances the full menu would be available it wasn’t. No soup. One dessert option unavailable. Beef overcooked despite asking for medium rare (cuz it wasn’t available). No whipped cream or ice cream to go with the pie. No substitution allowed for missing items. Server unapologetic no consideration of the menu fee.
The restaurant had a lovely and clean interior, which was quite appealing. I made a reservation, and there were plenty of seats available for a late Sunday lunch, although no specific table was set aside for us. I was a bit confused about the menu for that time of day, as their online presence and Facebook page don't clearly indicate which food options are available at different times. It wasn't the brunch menu. Since I don’t usually eat meat, I found the lunch menu—if that's what it was—to be quite limited. The choices were either a salad or spicy shrimp, and unfortunately, they were out of meatless patty options, which was disappointing. The food was tasty, and I felt it was reasonably priced. However, our waitress seemed completely disinterested and lacking in enthusiasm. Given the small menu and limited options, I don't think I'll be coming back.
We went there for my girlfriends birthday dinner they did not have what she wanted and would not make changes to her meal the staff did nothing to help celebrate her big day like most upscale restaurants do don't get me wrong the food was good and the restaurant it self is amazing. And the desserts are truly next level but the lack of customer service was not up to par at all. We would go back again but only for drinks and dessert. But never again for a special occasion.
