We did try to visit two years ago, only to find it was not open for lunch, but this year we took the trouble to drive there from Cortes de la Frontera having first checked that it was open. The food was as good as ever, with quite an extensive choice on the lunchtime menu del dia at 9 euros for 3 courses, bread, olives and a drink. We enjoyed it so much that we made a second trip later in our week, when I was served a veal fillet so large that it practically covered the plate. That on its own was worth more than 9 euros. On both occasions we were the only non-Spaniards there: the usual workmen on our first visit but several multi-generational families on our second. Like other similar Spanish restaurants, the noise level does increase incrementally in proportion to the number of customers. Service is very friendly and also ultra-swift. We would happily go there again if we were in the area.

However food was only available inside and dogs were not allowed in , they would not allow food outside in fact they would not deliver drinks outside , a faded poster stated no service outside We got a few bottles of fizzy water and sat outside Area seemed ok opposite the train station Can’t comment on the food as couldn’t buy any Female toilets were dirty and full of flies

I can really recomme... read more We’ve been here before. in 2018 and it is still a brilliant place to eat. The lunchtime menu is €9 and comprises three courses and a drink. I can really recommend the mixed salad it is fresh and full of flavours! The salad is the usual lettuce and tomatoes, along with tuna and sweet corn, with eggs and beetroot. What so really good is that it is not bathed in any oil, so you get the true flavours of really fresh produce. The bar is frequented by both locals and tourists, but the majority of users are locals, which is always a good sign! Certainly well worth a stop if you are hungry! The quantities are very generous...

The food and drink are... read more This bar restaurant is about 50 metres from the railway station in a sleepy village, but it is vibrant and very popular with the locals. The food and drink are very reasonably priced and excellent value. The food is simple and unpretentious, but excellent. Strongly recommend the set lunch-at €9 for two courses and a drink, it is unbeatable value. This serving staff are very friendly and helpful. An excellent watering hole for the train traveller!
