The Birches at Ben Eoin Cape Breton

Shut out of overbooked Sydney hotels and on recommendation ended up at Birches. Large and comfortable room. Hot tub outside was a bonus. Breakfast won't blow you away but adequate.

Malcom's dining room/restaurant at the Birches is second to none! The new (few years now) chef, Kim Madsen is talented and clearly selective with his ingredients. The food was beautifully prepared, and the dishes were delicious. The dining room décor and lay out is beautiful. Serving staff were lovely and accommodating. We will definitely be returning!

If you're stay at The Birches, you'll want to eat here ! It is delicious and their desserts are spectacular! The service is amazing. I was very impressed.

After a beautiful drive up the coast we arrived at The Birches. Our two day stay far exceeded our expectations. Turns out we were the only guests in this large and lovely resort. Our room was grand and beautifully appointed. Had we stayed when the weather was warmer we would have taken advantage of the wrap around balcony and the wonderful 180 degree views of the sea, ski hills and golf course. Suffice to say it was just as nice from inside the room. We enjoyed personal attention from the moment we arrived and enjoyed two delicious breakfasts in the large and comfortable dining room. Every nook and cranny is beautifully decorated and no expense has been spared to create a lovely home away from home for anyone lucky enough to be a guest there. We had a wonderful time, thank you Larry and Barbara.

My wife and I stayed there on a Saturday in October and the only thing to do was to stay in your room and wait for diner. The room was large and modern and the food was above average!
