Knowing that the Birdham has new owners (and new name) we went a couple of weeks ago to try the carvery. We were greeted with a smile and served by a very friendly, efficient and professional young man (unfortunately I can't remember his name ..he lived in St Helens though The food was excellent; piping hot, fresh and with plenty of choice. Desserts were delicious with large portions. Being just 2 miles away, we will... View all feedback.
What DaveH doesn't like about The Spinnaker & Stern Room:
Visited between Christmas and New year the restaurant was extremely quite. There were several items on the menu and specials board not available. Food was ok although I had the sea bass which I felt was a small portion. Overall ok. Nice friendly staff who where attentive and polite. View all feedback.
I wasn't visited before. very impressed by everything: pleasant dining room, very good service, excellent selection of real ales and fantastic choices on the specials menu. we will certainly be eating there again.
Most of the other restaurants in Bembridge appeared to be closed on Tuesday, but we decided to stop at The Birdham on our way to Sandown. We had an excellent meal with friendly service.
Went to the Birdham for drinks and stayed for dinner. Had a wonderful evening the atmosphere there is very friendly and relaxing. Dinner was burgers (again) but they're really good, which is why we had them again. I like to keep it simple, you...can't beat a good burger, and the Birdham's burgers are superb.
During our stay at Warner's down the road, we stopped by for a drink at lunchtime and noticed the food menu at the Birdham in Bembridge. Impressed, we decided to book a table for that evening, and we were grateful that we did. It was a Thursday night, so the restaurant wasn't very busy, but the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We both ordered the fillet steak for the main course, and it was cooked perfectly. If we ever find ourselves on the island again, we would definitely return and maybe even stay the night, as they offer rooms upstairs.
Went here after it had reopened as the Birdham, and it was such a pleasant experience. Fantastic late lunch, where the steak and ale pie was divine and the fish and chips as equally impressive. Really friendly staff and restaurant itself had a great vibe...and was clean and cosy.
