The Hanging Gate is situated in a charming location close to the center of Belper. The interior has the welcoming feel of a typical rural pub. Some areas of the dining space are accessible to those with mobility issues. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area as well as a section indoors. We had to ask for a separate vegan menu, which featured a variety of options for starters and main courses, including falafel, soup, salad, curry, tart, and burgers. As part of the Vintage Inns group, the food is consistent across all their pubs. Although we thought the taste and quality were good, it didn't exceed our expectations. The menu mainly focuses on traditional meat-based pub dishes, with chicken plates surrounding us on a Sunday afternoon. Despite this, it's nice to have a decent vegan dining choice in a setting where vegan options are not typically plentiful.
I recently dined at this delightful English pub that offers a dedicated vegan menu and exudes a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I savored the vegan burger which was scrumptious, although I would have preferred it to be accompanied by chips instead of a small salad. In conclusion, this is an excellent option for individuals in search of classic pub fare.
I came across this charming little pub while passing by and decided to stop for some food. The roast turkey dinner was absolutely delicious and the pizza and banoffee pie were also very tasty. This restaurant is vegetarian-friendly, has a decent size free car park, and the price per person ranges from £30 to £40. I would give the food and service a perfect 5 rating.
