I love love this place! I took my best friend and mother there for her mother's birthday! They loved it! They had a great band games (Thursday 2/17/22) they had flew us in our seats! And the band sang Happy Birthday! We gave them $20. Because that was super sweet and they rocked! I had the shrimps and geese that were so delicious, my BFF had the Cobb salad with shrimps, the birthday mom Shirley had a Cobb salad with... View all feedback.
What cindyb doesn't like about Nellie's Southern Kitchen:
The food and service were fantastic! We celebrated my daughter's birthday there, and it was her wish to dine at this restaurant. It definitely lived up to our expectations! View all feedback.
Friend took me for surprise brunch! the first time, but wanted to try. beautiful inside, warm lighting, very friendly staff-our waitress was sweet and helped us make our food decisions. we had the fried okra as an appetizer. I had laughs with mac and cheese and sweet caroline (baked sweet potatoes w/glazed pecans) delicious. he had chickens and wads and both the bun and wad were really good. we also had their $5 mimosas-got us directly on the day finally there were live music that mentioned the website and we also enjoyed it. we will definitely return.
The cookies! perfect. the peach cobbler! so beautiful made the effortless mix of spicy sweet, pfirsich and cake served in a hot chic with an exactly the right amount of ice. The taste and taste was simply enchanting! You can't. as vegetarian I went for the pinto bean! wow a generous portion with an exquisite taste. you can wonder how to drill so high on the taste. Well, you have to try. I enjoyed it with maisbrot (just fit something on the sweet side and grilled vegetables. the grilled veggies were boiled over and there were a few tomato in the ground, a tiny mushroom and squash. would have prevented an addition of other vegetables. see the fish! perfectly made with a dry crispy teig and super soft inside. beautifully made. young rain, a brand new server, took care of us. She was friendly; knew the menu and her tempo to bring us the appetizers, net and dessert was before place and talk about appetizers, was the fried okra crispy and lightly spiced. it cost. and the collar and artichoke dip with brot was hooked. the restaurant manger and the staff were all super attentive and we really had a nice evening. ps: in the corridor to the toilets is the wall of the rest! and as they go back, they simply cannot miss the imposing wall wall paintings by grandma nellie. the best wish for this great family and their team. you have to eat here.
The atmosphere, live music, and delicious food at Nellie's was wonderful! Chicken and Dumplings were piping hot, mash potatoes and white gravy were perfect! My sister had the meatloaf with its special sauce and she loved it! The amazing waitress was very attentive the entire time we were there and made sure we were happy with our meal and drinks. The prices are on the higher side, but I knew this going in as I had done some homework on the menu before making my reservation. For 2 people and an appetizer, expect to pay around $40-50 at minimum. My favorite experience was simply the friendliness displayed by the manager and how much effort he put into making us feel welcome. I've lived in Texas previously and it was an absolute pleasure to meet and speak with Chad who also spent many years there! There is also an impressive display in the hall of the many accomplishments of the Jonas Brothers. It was very cool seeing the memorabilia. I will definitely be returning to dine at Nellie's in the future.
My sister and I visited the restaurant on a Saturday. I would recommend calling ahead and confirming reservations. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We would definitely go back.
First time at Nellie’s and I will need to go back and try something else. It is a Sunday and the place is packed. My friend made a reservation and yet, we had to wait. Let’s break down the 3 stars: Staff (excluding the hostess who was not friendly): 5 stars to our waitress. She was very attentive, willing to offer recommendations, always checking on us. Ambiance the music is waaaaaayyyyy too loud. There is a performer on Sundays and he was LOUD. I am sure people yelled at each other to have a conversation. That to me takes it down to one star. Drinks: excellent. Food: I ordered the fried chicken, mc and cheese and fried sweet potatoes. I was not impressed with the chicken at all. I have had better chicken at two fast foods locally. The fries were amazing, the mac and cheese was good, not creamy as I a thought it would be. Overall my review for the food is not what I thought it would be . My friend ordered the shrimps and grits and they looked good, the grits had a lot of flavor.
