What Ellie Gorczany doesn't like about Famous Toastery Belmont:
Service was nice and quick but the food wasn't the best. I ordered the banana nut pancake, sausage patty, and scrambled eggs. Not quite sure what kind of sausage that was but I sent it back and got bacon instead. The pancake had way too many walnuts in it. I went here for brunch on a Saturday. I don't think I'll ever go back. View all feedback.
I usually love coming here, but I was super disappointed this last time I left. The hostess was very rude when I called and even when we got her. I had asked if there was a smaller table we could sit at the Schnarch, there were only two of us. She sat at a huge table and said she had other sides to help when I asked. I just don't apologize, would have been good enough for me. Not only that my food is burned, as burned black. And the orde mother was cold. Service was not great and also the food. I'm not coming back. It went down the hill.
The 3 stars are for a server that was not ours, and the two food runners. When we first came in, on the waiting list that really moved well, we sat in a corner that stood directly against another big party. There were 5 of us. Two tables were pushed together and the hostess took the 5th chair and went away with him... I was confused. She came back and we just stood there, because now we only have 4 chairs for 5 people. So, I noticed two open tables sitting at the windows a few steps away, and asked if we could sit there so that we were not pushed into the corner. The young hostess seemed so confusing and not to think. She said she would ask the manager, came back and said that the two tables were used as two 4 tops, and she still wanted to sit in the corner. I explained that the two tables pushed into the corner could be used as two 4 tops, and there were 2 more 4 tops that were empty at that time. Another server came by with glasses and asked us what happened. We told him he agreed, went to ask summer, the manager, came back and said Summer said no. I find it ineffective that the staff has no professional autonomy to serve the guests without running back and forth in the kitchen to ask the manager who is the cook. Summer does not develop personnel. She doesn't lead. She dictated and didn't even bother to get out. I never saw the host again. She left us. We weren't mean, weren't angry. I'm just trying to make sure nobody was tortured. We sat in the corner. The food was good. The food runners were polite, attentive and professional. Our server just added the bad experience. No refills, empty plates left on the table, on their phone at the beverage station, we had to ask for cutlery brought by a food runner. The front checkout was a mess. Customers wait, pay customers, pick up customers. It's better if servers do the cash outings. Also, the development of executives and micromanagement looks like young employees who are lost, going back and forth to the kitchen to ask questions instead of being able to make decisions while servers stand to talk to each other, come about when the hostess standing is swimming, help only enough to go away to talk to stand at the beverage station and scroll through their phone. We were there about an hour, and no one ever sat at the two tables on the window, nor at the other two tables. There were also other empty tables, so seats were no problem again. It was a Saturday morning, but it was not excessively busy, only badly managed and wait staff not to draw their weight. I think our pseudo server was Brittany... Shannon... I really don't remember... She was so unstoppable. ANNEX
French toast was only cooked on one side..very soggy. Eggs were incredibly runny... not over easy like we are used too. Would not go again
Great place for breakfast. Friendly staff, but we were there when they opened the doors on Sunday, so they were not busy. Cookies and engraving with eggs were delicious.
Wife and I visited early on Sunday and received excellent service. The amount of food at price was great. Food quality was decent, but not really special on anyway. I have the cookies and Gravy. The woman has the afterlife of the Omelette. Visit if you: Are looking for an affordable meal with great service and great portions. Food is good, but don't have to be great. Do not visit if you: Visit and want to go out your way to have a unique great food experience. Eating is 4 stars good only not 5 stars WOW.
