There are more older folks, and you have to get your own drinks and food at the counter. The vibe felt snobby.

Th... read more I almost got Subway for lunch today, but I changed my mind and decided to drive a bit farther to Avenue Bread. I'm so happy I did. This sandwich was amazing! The bread was soft, but still with a good chew, and all the other ingredients tasted so fresh.The pesto spread was generously applied, and the sprouts added such a good textural element.

Unfortunately the sandwiches suffe... read more You sort of expect a basic sandwich on sourdough to be pretty tasty from a place with the word Bread right there in the name. Unfortunately the sandwiches suffer from a pretty high bread-to-filling ratio, and the bread itself is on the dry side (maybe,even a little stale? Maybe I 've been ruined by Old World Deli using Breadfarm bread? The Eggenues are always a treat, though.
