Daniela was absolutely amazing! She took care of every need and was very patient explaining the menu to us first timers. The food was flavorful and very good! We will definitely return! View all feedback.
Delicious, authentic food. Friendly staff, good ambiance, but was crowded and loud. Definitely a celebratory atmosphere. A must-go!
Everything between 4 friends was surprisingly awesome! (we all shared each others appetizers food)I did wish the menu was understable for those unfamiliar with this cuisine but employees were all so good about explaining the menu.
I cannot say enough about Senora Arepa! I've been to both locations and they neither disappoint. The food was amazing, especially the ceviche de chicharron. Too many other items to name... there isn't a bad item on the menu. A must is the corn salsa, it goes great with everything. Staff was nice, knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back!
The first time I visited Señora Arepa, they were at their NuLu location, in the shadow of a bigger Cuban restaurant. I am so glad that Señora Arepa has now ventured into their own location, where they can truly shine! The ambience at the St. Matthews location is lively (alegre) and fun, especially inviting and so Venezuelan when the garage doors and patio are open during good weather. The food is similar to authentic Venezuelan food, but seems to have some Cuban and Colombian influences. I ordered pabellón, the national dish of Venezuela. The pabellón I ate in Venezuela did not have black beans in a thick sauce. They were served in Venezuela in their natural form, not in a gravy. Likewise the shredded beef was served, in Venezuela, in its natural juices, not with a flour-thickened sauce. The added flour takes away some of the flavor from the onions, bell pepper, tomato and spices that the beef is cooked in. I have to agree with Francisco Dugarte 's review, that the price of the arepa and the arepa, itself, are seriously exaggerated from what an arepa really is. I much prefer the small, palm-size, authentic Venezuelan arepas to the large, overstuffed, hand-size arepas at Señora Arepa. Nonetheless, I am glad that Señora Arepa is introducing Venezuelan culture and food to Louisville, KY. In my opinion, when Señora Arepa fully embraces the uniqueness of Venezuelan food, they will shine even more and truly demonstrate the essence of chévere !
It was our first experience at Señora Arepa. We willing to help. The food was fantastic and the drinks or superb. We ordered Arepitas for an appetizer. Then we ordered two “Platos.” You do not need to for two people. One can easily serve two people. My husband ordered the Bandeja Paisa and I ordered the Vegetariano. They were both outstanding. But we literally ate a quarter of them and brought home the rest. Mostly because we did not want to miss dessert. We also ordered two drinks. I had an original Mojito, and he ordered a Chata Colada. Both were phenomenal. Cannot wait to go back again. But we will order less. ?
