This restaurant is away from the tourist section and quite a walk from Ballagio itself. The location is simply lovely but the service and the food left quite a bit to be desired. There was nothing actually unpleasant about the food but it was just underwhelming whilst the service was not overly friendly. This could be a fantastic restaurant to visit but sadly in our opinion it didn't hit the mark the view did though! View all feedback.
We came here for the weekend with our family for our wedding. We had six beautiful bedrooms with amazing lake views. Each room was unique. We woke each morning to the smell of croissants baking and to see the sun rising over the mountains. We had a lovely continental breakfast each morning on their lovely terrace overlooking the lake. The hotel is in a great location. You have a little beach where you can swim in the lake or relax in the sun right outside the hotel. There are vending machines available to get water, drinks, snacks and ice cream and it is in walking distance of the centre. (10 minutes up steep steps) On the Saturday evening we had our wedding meal in the restaurant on the terrace overlooking the lake and it was absolutely delicious. One of our group was a nut and shellfish allergy and they were so accommodating of this. Marta and the staff were so accommodating of all of our needs. Organising a boat tour for our ceremony and a return taxi to the airport for our guests. She was so easy to contact and she made planning a wedding in Italy from Ireland so easy and stress free. I would highly recommend Marta and Hotel Ristorante La Pergola for a small intimate wedding or any family occasion as the food is delicious, it is in an ideal location, it is clean and beautiful and the views are breathtaking.
We ate here our first night in Bellagio and it has been our best experience so far. We found the staff to be extremely accommodating, helpful, and pleasant. The food and wine were good, as was the gelato we had for dessert. The tiramisu was a miss. We ordered gnocchi with zucchini and octopus (3/5), battered fish with curry served over rice (5/5), risotto (4/5), a fish sampler (5/5), and veal and potatoes (4/5). The bread basket was delicious, too, with several types of bread, including my favorite, focaccia. What really made the experience special, however, was the setting. The terrace of La Pergola is large, spacious, and covered in climbing vines. It overlooks the lake, fishing boats, and mountains. I would return for that setting and a glass of wine, then sit there until they kicked me out.
Abbiamo pranzato sotto la meravigliosa pergola di fronte al lago in una delle frazioni più caratteristiche di Bellagio. Il risotto era speciale e lo consiglio vivamente.
Lunch on the weekend on the terrace overlooking the lake. Original menu that resumes some ingredients and/or typical dishes of the lake re-elaborating them. the prices are influenced by the location, probably in other contexts and at the same offer would be lower.
Amazing food friendly service! Ignore anyone who says otherwise. We had a beautiful lunch of fresh seasonal pasta with friendly and attentive service. Exactly what you need want when on vacation. Can’t wait to return. To those that had negative things to say….The Kindness and grace people show you when you come into their lives needs to be returned! it’s not all about you boo! Our experience was phenomenal, but we make a point to respect and appreciate other cultures when we travel.
