My husband and I dined at the Hotel Villa Carlotta roof top restaurant on Sunday, May 14. We had just arrived from the U.S.A. We were exhausted and looking for a restaurant near our hotel. The reviews and menu looked outstanding so we booked a table. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our dinner! We compared all meals, wines and service for the rest of our stay in Sicily against that night. Our dinner that night s... View all feedback.
What London021 doesn't like about Villa Carlotta:
Usually Italy is really relable for pasta (surprise! . The food quality at the hotel was really poor like school dinners and pretty much the same recycled day to day. Breakfast cheap and unpleasant. It is not hard to provide good quality bread cheese and fruit in Italy but it was certainly not present here. View all feedback.
Good food, little bit overpriced. Service was friendly but little professional. The terrace is next to a busy street.

My name is Harry and I am 9 years old. I visited here on the 8th of April with my family. My grilled beef was excellent but I would have liked a bit more on my plate. The atmosphere was relaxing. My Dad’s sea bass was lovely and my mum’s tuna and liquorice was very tasty as well for adults but not really for children (unless they like liquorice). The staff were really kind and were very quick in giving us our food, they were also very child friendly. The bill was a reasonable price considering the food and the nice atmosphere. Overall a very good restaurant.
The food is very humble, and not suitable for a four star hotel. A lot of servants, but small portions. Here is a picture og the main course, which is turkey.
Hotel has been described as being an old estate that has been modernized. The modernization is certainly not up to most people's standards. Had to unplug the tv to get enough outlets to charge our phones and tablet. Lamp plugs look ancient with loose wires. No overhead lights. Not sure what era furniture was built. Weird perfume smell in room and halls. Elevators extremely tiny holding only 2 people with luggage. Bathroom may have been modernized 50 years ago. Sound travels easily between rooms. Air conditioner hardly works and rattles as if wishing to die. Met other travellers and all agreed that this place should be given 2 star at the most. I have never found a poorer hotel in all my trips. That being said, location cannot be beat overlooking Lake Maggorie.
