The ice cream here is enjoyable, but the staff member I encountered was quite rude. She complained when I used the trash can and wouldn’t let me choose multiple flavors in the same cone, citing “cross-contamination.” It seems that other ice cream shops have no problem with this, so I'm not sure why she does. Her attitude suggested she may be struggling with personal issues. Overall, the service left a lot to be desired.
I adore Alice; she's typically the one who takes your order. The establishment is super friendly and welcoming. There are tables outside for dining, and the bathrooms are located inside. They also accept both card and cash now.
Kind of an oddball place—a family-owned motel with just five rooms in a VERY small town. Check-in in summer can be difficult; you have to go to an ice cream stand that may be quite busy. But once you're in it's quite nice. The rooms are in back of the office and the ice cream stand, so they're very quiet, and there's a lovely little garden. Rooms are older, but everything worked fine. I might add that on summer weekends this place is a lot cheaper than other motels in central New York state.
Great spot to grab some ice cream on our way to the cabin. Definitely give it a try!
The ice cream was amazing. But when we went to use the wash room the door was locked. The lady was by the window eating cheese and crackers on her phone. We knocked on the window to get her attention but she looked up them immediately went back on her phone ignoring us. We knocked on the door for almost 5 minutes strait but she would still ignore us. We then had to go home with sticky faced children in the back. We had come here many times before and usually the door is unlocked but not all the time.
