Had lunch here, what a great initiative in supporting people with disabilities, popular cafe. The sausage rolls were delicious, home baked and full of flavour. We also ordered the vegetable soup which was very average View all feedback.
What eileenp560 doesn't like about The Bobbin:
Have visited this restaurant before on two occasions and was very happy with the food. Called in today and had chicken vegetable broth with wheaten bread. The wheaten bread was a very miniature small loaf. The soup was greasy and had a very strong taste and I definitely did not like it. Won't be back in a hurry. View all feedback.
I stopped in for a quick brunch to share. We ordered a ham and cheese ciabatta, which was cut in half and placed on large dinner plates. Unfortunately, there was no garnish of a small salad or chips included. I was informed that I would have to pay extra for a packet of crisps if I wanted chips. We also had coffee and one juice, which brought the total to £11. This was quite pricey for what we received. It was disappointing to see a lack of attention to detail, especially considering the restaurant had many international visitors that day. I do not plan on returning in the future.
I was disappointed by the expensive prices at The Bobbin, a social enterprise restaurant. My friend and I stopped by for a snack around 11am and ordered a cup of tea each and a sausage roll. When I went to pay with my card, I was shocked to see that the total was 15.80, which was 7.90 each for a small sausage roll and a regular cup of tea. The staff member explained that she didn't set the prices, but it was determined by head office. This experience made me understand why the restaurant was empty. I should have gone to Greggs instead.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem during our trip to Belfast! We popped in for a cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake while exploring City Hall (which by the way, was well worth the visit with its free entry and fascinating exhibition on Belfast and its history). We decided to come back for lunch and enjoyed a hearty bowl of beef stew with bread and butter... it was incredibly tasty. This restaurant is a social enterprise, so please show your support as the food and service are top-notch!
Best cup of tea, best service and best prices in Belfast. Loved it. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious .
Saw the banner for The Bobbin on the City Hall railings decided to visit. Walking to the cafe through City Hall certainly enhanced the experience but overall our visit was a little disappointing. The greeting was unfriendly were treated as if we had been to The Bobbin before, which we hadn’t. Perhaps the lady was coming to the end of a long shift but it doesn’t cost anything to be friendly. The tea coffee, plus cake we were told in no uncertain terms we were too late for hot food were fine but we came away disappointed by the experience. A very worthy enterprise deserves better.
