I have eat in many Chinese restaurants and must say the Mandarin serves one of the highest quality cuisine I have every experienced. Staff are extremely attentive and pleasant and service faultless. I applaud with a well deserved 5 View all feedback.
What Tom Oliver doesn't like about Mandarin City:
The dining experience began on a positive note with excellent customer service, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The crispy honey chilli beef was mostly crispy with little beef, the crispy salted chilli chicken had soggy batter and lacked flavor, and the salt and chilli chips were too chunky and essentially just plain chips. The egg fried rice was nothing special. Overall, the food was not worth... View all feedback.
Well, what to say, not the best place I was. here the service is better served than eating. we ordered honey chill chicken with cashewnüssen and peking archless ribs and noodles after order we got our dishes after 3 minutes were ready. - That's embarrassing. if u pay over 15 announcements per court u would expect much more than that.
The food at this restaurant is good, but it is definitely overpriced and seems to be coasting on its reputation. I was there with my family and friends, so I can only speak to my own meal. The shredded beef starter lacked flavor and the portion was very small. The duck curry was average, with no standout ingredients or rich, flavorful sauce. The house wine was bland at £22, but the pint of Tennents was enjoyable. The staff, while casually dressed for the setting, provided fast and efficient service and made sure to thoroughly clean and sanitize the tables and chairs after each use.
Had chicken noodle soup just a bowel of water with noodles and a couple of pieces of chicken. The duck dishes was awful left it chicken fried rice was really dry the madiren special was good that was it not worth the money my first time andy last we. Dined in
Just driven away from the Mandarin. Ordered Starter of Chilli King Prawns and Crispy shredded chicken in Peking sauce. Place the order in restaurant and food arrived in literally 5 minutes. Alarm bells should have gone off!!! Prawns were soggy as oil not hot enough. Chicken was not shredded but big chunks of quite weirdly tasting chicken. £20 has just gone in the bin.
Absolutely hate giving bad reviews but for the price we paid for a chicken starter and a main 29.90 and that was carryout was way too much for the quality and quantity of both the starter was so bland the main was just bigger portion than the starter it was the same x prawn crackers where hard and not enjoyable sorry guys
