Art Deco Wine Café - Beja

With its retro shabby chic this place could be in hoxton, london the coolest place to eat in the capital. but here we are in beja, the lovely owner is warm and welcoming, the house made eating exciting and lively and on a hot dusty day the freshly pressed lemon, mint and honey was a lifesetter. Don't miss them.

Excellent place right by a square, the food is good (lots of different little tapas)

We found this wonderful place when we went back from the castle of beja to our hotel. beja is a very quiet city and in the august was around 38 grad celsius. as a group of 8 on the search for drinking and eating we could not stop happier in the art deco cafe wine bar. vitor caos the friendly owner welcomed us with a big smile. we asked for wein suggestions and vitor was with the first suggestion adega mayor red reserva wein and the second caiado red wine before place. we ordered sardines and I would say that they were the best what I had, absolutely delicious. we sat outside and a local couple sat next to us. they were very friendly and talked to us about beja and the current events in the city. on our request, vitor also came to us at one point and told us about the opposite of our stay in beja was short and the only problem for us is that we don't get a chance to go back and eat again. if in beja it would definitely recommend checking out the art deco cafe.

Great little caffe in beja. the owner is very friendly and the whole place feels like visiting a well-known friend. people from the neighbourhood come to chat, drink and eat. the wine selection is really good and the owl gives good advice. eating is really good. there are only some small tapas available, but they taste delicious.
