The restaurant is conveniently located on Dillinger Straße, close to the railway station and the A 8, there are s... read more General We visited the “Connor Ranch” at noon. The restaurant is conveniently located on Dillinger Straße, close to the railway station and the A 8, there are several parking spaces in front of and next to the restaurant and on a gravel square behind the property. The greeting was very friendly and the female service was unobtrusively attentive and fleeing during our stay. Alexander Zercher and his team run a catering and party service next to the restaurant. The kitchen offers – as the name “Ranch” suggests, in addition to German good-bourgeois, especially “American Food”, many dishes from S to XXL. This concept enjoys great popularity in the region, especially on weekends and certain events, so reservation is recommended. The ranch is particularly popular with groups, but the restaurant offers a guest room with approx. 40 seats two additional rooms with rustic brewhouse furniture for another 100 guests. Families with toddlers can also be convinced, because adjacent to the guest room there is a games room with “children’s gates”, as the children can engage while the parents can easily squeeze their XXL portions. Eat Since I myself am not a friend of “XXL”, a carving or a steak of 1000g rather scare me and also a burger, twice occupied and with a diameter of 30cm, even as a ridge does not come into question, we chose in small portions · Paprikarahm Schnitzel (M a 200gr) with pommes at 10,90€ and · Rumpsteak (M 200gr) with garlic herbs The ranch advertises with the slogan “always honest, freshly priced”. 200gr steak with pommes and salad for 19,50 € are ok, but m.E. are not inexpensive. Honestly and fresh – yes, the ingredients of the food are mostly from the region, as I was assured of on demand. The salad came crisply fresh with a pikant slightly acidic dressing and fresh garden herbs covered as before on the table. After a pleasant waiting period, the main dishes followed, both dressed on preheated XXL plates, so that the carving and, above all, the steak offered a quite lonely lost sight. But there were 200gr portions, the scavenger was lean and tenderly cut, only not to be like a Viennese scavenger, namely wrapped loosely in a beautifully thin panade. Rather, it was surrounded by a not very spicy, much too thick and almost sticky, but at least golden brown fried shell. The almost pudding-likely thickened cream sauce could not score – no masterpiece. The Rumpsteak was of good quality, a fine-aromatic piece, on the point medium roasted, lean, juicy, almost continuous tender and drawn by sharp frying on the lava grill with a distinctive taste-enhancing crust. Very good fit here was the well-made garlic herbal butter, just as without complaint we found the crawling pumices tasty. Conclusion: “Specials” kitchen, more adapted to young audiences, groups and XXL friends

Seriously, if you think that you want the XL Burger the L because the 30cm Patty / Bun is a terrible... a lot to eat. Very funny experience.
