The White Mare Hotel and Restaurant in Cumbria offers high quality food and drink at reasonable prices in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Nestled in a delightful village between two small becks, our traditional Coaching Inn has been fully refurbished, with a well-stocked bar and daily bar and restaurant menus. The redesigned interiors feature a new fireplace in the restaurant area, a viewing hatch to the kitchen from the lounge, and a cozy beamed ceiling with an open fire.

Reservations are seamless, and the dining experience is stress-free, encouraging guests to savor every moment. With standout appetizers, flavorful mains, and exquisite desserts, The White Mare has rightfully earned its reputation as a cherished restaurant worth returning to time and again.
The dining experience was lovely, accompanied by excellent service. We had initially hoped to start with the scallops, but unfortunately, they were sold out by the time we were ready to order. We will definitely be back!
This restaurant offers excellent food and a wide variety of gluten-free options. The staff is friendly, and even during busy times, they maintain a calm atmosphere and don't make you feel rushed. They also have a fantastic selection of gin and cocktails.
The dining experience was enjoyable, but it was fairly pricey for what we had. The desserts were quite small and felt overpriced at £6.50 each!
