I would highly recommend for Sunday lunch / dinner, but warn to read the menu correctly, because from any bizarre background that burn under her meat will have her sweet swim in a mix of gravity and cream. yes, cream. Apart from that it tasted great and the staff could not have been helpful, so I will definitely go again, but remember to say “kee”! View all feedback.
What Lollipops doesn't like about The Chancery:
Sadly it wasn't a great experience. Their online menu according to the staff is around 4 years out of date. The pie of the day (beef) was dry and very tough to cut through, I gave up in the end. We didn't bother with desserts- just paid the bill and left. View all feedback.
As mr. snarky said: we could taste the pub I thought of the restaurants near the railway station. When we landed here, I was surprised.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service
Great selection of beers on tap. Amazing pizza from van outside only on Sundays, you're allowed to have it in the pub.
Amazing Irish music live night! Super kind staff and good drinks to complement the friendly environment
The former tavern seems to have retained its pub ancestry but none the worse for that. However, you first have to find your way in which could be made a bit easier. We were a largish group and full marks for bringing out all the food pretty much together. But while my fish was fine, the treble cooked chips were very disappointing and another diner found some of his still hard in the middle. My serving of mushy peas could only be described as mean. Generally, however, everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff were efficient and friendly.
