What User doesn't like about The Lawns Grill At Thornton Hall:
Today was one of those disappointing days when the cook was not on the ball. Most of the time Crackle Barrel serves awesome food. However today the corn on the cob tasted old, mac cheese had burnt pieces mixed in with it. The meatloaf tasted very bland and dry. Corn bread was so so. We had our order as take out View all feedback.
We had a fantastic dining experience at Restaurant Rasens for our evening meal. The ambiance and decor were stunning. The staff was attentive, polite, and friendly, providing exemplary service throughout our visit. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were even visited by the chef, who took the time to explain each cheese on the trolley and assist us in making our selections. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a delightful and memorable culinary experience.
The Lawns Restaurant is situated within the Thornton Hall Hotel, a beautifully serene oasis in the charming village of Thornton Hough. This village is known for its Tudor-style architecture, a nod to its origins as a model village developed by philanthropist William Lever. The newly appointed chef at The Lawns is none other than Michelin-starred Matt Worswick, who has a wealth of experience. He earned his first Michelin star in 2013 while working at Glenapp Castle in Scotland. Since then, this chef, originally from Liverpool, has returned to his hometown to serve up some exquisite dishes. From the moment I tasted the tiny, airy, and perfectly crispy bread roll that arrived at my table, I knew I was in excellent hands. It was wonderfully fluffy on the inside, with a delightful aroma of freshly baked goodness wafting from the steaming bread. It was simply perfect. Following this, we were treated to a small amuse-bouche featuring mushrooms (or perhaps the fancy-pants term for them, champignon) topped with a beautifully crafted truffle foam. This was an outstanding introduction to our tasting menu. There is much more to say, but let me pause here.
What an amazing service. The team were fantastic what a credit to the hotel they are. Couldn't fault one of them, from the team that checked us in. To the ones thay helped us in the spa. Not for getting the ones that served us the most amazing meal. They were very intentive and knowledgeable. Not for getting the chef and his team, the food was amazing.
I tried the Youngest Great British tasting menu by Matt Worswick, and it was absolutely divine!
Sunday dinner in the lawns is just a fabulous experience. from the moment in which they are greeted by the workers at the door cordially, they feel in another world in which they are treated like, and in any case like, royalty. Although they were busy with two private parties, the beautifully decorated restaurant itself was calm and felt exclusive, the service was attentive, but not intrusive, the staff has the ability to feel diners like. they are so really friendly and make the feeling they want to make their dining experience very special. they're sure of that. the meal itself was delicious, beautifully presented and magnificent aromen. it is very difficult to choose as any article on the menu is so tempting. I assume it only means we have to come more often so that we can work through them. If they wish a very special Sunday afternoon, they will not be better than that. I made myself feel very chilled as if I had a mini break in a house hotel and was very sad to go. I'm looking forward to next time.
