A neat little sushi and Japanese place. Really good and creative cocktails too. They have a number of state and other rolls available and even a fair number of baked rolls. The tempura ice cream is fantastic, especially with the green tea ice cream. It does get a bit busy sometimes, so come early. Very good and attentive service and plenty of parking. A nice little gem in the area. View all feedback.
What Yoonjeong Y doesn't like about Shoten Japanese Dining:
Have you ever ordered any food from this restaurant over the phone? Did they respond immediately? In my experience, they only answer the phone at a convenient time for them. Today, I called again and again for almost 30 minutes to order, just in case, but as expected, they didn 't answer again. I have complained about this before, but nothing has changed since then. Will thet ever change? I 'd like to say No. because... View all feedback.
Shoten definitely hit the spot for fresh oysters and sushi (they also serve bento's). The restaurant has a laid back atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly. Serving sizes for the sushi rolls were enough for two people. They also serve alcohol if you want to pair it with what you're eating.
I think they changed managers. It is a little disappointing but will tell you more! How did I know there's new management? My guess is: I asked for bento sets, one with salmon teriyaki and one bulgogi. The server told me they don't have bulgogi but beef. So...yeah...anyways, the servers and everyone were all new faces for me. Anyways: why 2 stars? 1. The take out boxes changed as they're a lot smaller (you can see my previous pictures to compare). Because they're smaller, there's no place to put the two gyozas. The best place I supposed is right on top of the wasabi and ginger. Yes, they have a little paper divider but that thing was soaked with oil anyways so I was able to eat oily wasabi and oily ginger, yummmyyyy (sarcastic). 2. The main reason was that the sashimis were WARM! Never ever at shoten (dine in or take out) were my sashimis warm. They must've put them into the take out box with the other warm things and not last. It was so warm that I was concerned about it being okay to eat. Or, were they already warm to begin with, before even in bento boxes? Even though the cuts were nice, fatty, and juicy, I don't like warm sashimi. Other than those 2 things, the beef (bulgogi) was good, they had similar flavors as the past. The prices did go up by $2 or so, just a heads up. Yeah, I don't know if I would eat their sashimi in the future. Glad that my mom and I are okay!
Was craving for yaki udon and ordered togo within 1 hour of closing. Take out order was quick, less than 10 minutes. We ordered scallop volcano, this is a really good dish and fully cooked, very yummy sauce over baked scallops with spicy mayo sauce and on top of california rolls. Yaki udon was disappointing because it was drenched in sauce that was too sweet and chicken was over cooked. It was enough wok to be considered stirfry, would not recommend anyone ordering that. Total price was $29, affordable

Really good food. Great portions. Great value. I ordered the bento box for lunch and it had a lot of variety! Highly recommended going there for their lunch bentos.
