Service was excellent! Food was excellent! Atmosphere was excellent too! It's been a few months since we visited, looks like they expanded their menu since our last visit. Today (Saturday) they had their brunch menu out and it had many great items to choose from, however, the Wife and I ended up ordering off the main menu; she had menudo, and I had chicken mole enchiladas. What Evalyn Kovacek doesn't like about Casa Lola:
The restaurant was cold. I pointed out the waiting staff that most customers wore coats at dinner. That should have given them a signal to turn on the heat. The Queso Fundido was nothing but melted cheese (very stringy) with a little chorizo in it. There were no additional chips. Not easy to eat or very good. The salsa served with all 98% cubed tomatoes, a kind of pico de gallo with tomatoes and small amount of peppe... View all feedback.
If you're looking for an incredibly enjoyable dining experience, look no further than Casa Lola Kitchen in Cornelius, Oregon. To start off our meal, we ordered the Topas de Mole - thick, homemade tortilla chips smothered in a rich mole sauce and topped with Mexican cream and queso fresco. It was my first time trying mole and I was thoroughly impressed. For her main dish, my wife chose the Filete de Pescado al Tequila - red snapper with a butter tequila sauce served with rice. The fish was tender, moist, and flaky, with a delicious sauce that perfectly complemented the dish. I opted for the Fajita Nachos with added steak for my entree. The nachos featured the same delicious homemade tortilla chips from the appetizer, topped with bell peppers, onions, spicy jalapenos, melted cheese, mole sauce, and Mexican queso fresco. It was a perfect portion size for our family of three, leaving us all satisfied. To top off our fantastic meal, we ordered horchata to go and tried the Arroz con Leche - a cold rice pudding that was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Overall, our dining experience at Casa Lola Kitchen was incredible, with perfect ambiance, stellar food, and amazing service. I give it a perfect score of 10/10.
Service is the most important aspect for me when dining out. My first experience at Casa Lola was not great, but after leaving a negative review, the owners, Carlos and Karla, took proactive steps to address the issues. They even held a staff meeting to improve their service. Their dedication to customer satisfaction was impressive. Despite initially deciding not to return, their efforts have convinced me to give them another chance. In a world where good service is hard to come by, Casa Lola truly stands out. I look forward to giving them a second try and will update my review accordingly.
I ordered the pork shank and was extremely pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic and the portion size was generous. I just wish the dish came with tortillas, that would have made it perfect. The service was a bit lackluster. We were not attended to frequently, and the server was unable to recommend or offer an opinion on a margarita.
First time, came on a strong recommendation so we had high expectations. This place can cook! The Filete de Pescado al Tequila was uniquely flavorful..delicious. One of the best fish dishes I've had in the Northwest. The Taquitos de Papa were perfectly cooked, and the potato filling came through nicely. This place echoes the ambience and flavors of a fine restaurant in Mexico City. My only critique was our service, had some delays.
