The coffee and pancakes were absolutely delicious! We originally stopped to try the pancakes, but ended up purchasing sandwiches and cinnamon rolls for later on the road. Overall, everything was very tasty. View all feedback.
What Henriette Beer doesn't like about Pine Valley Bakery and Lodge:
We traveled through in early April looking for a place to park our RV - books said they were open only to find they were closed for the season - thought I'd give people a heads up ! Open May 15th View all feedback.
Driving to AK, the gate was closed._Driving from AK, we found an open oasis! :)_After hours of bumpy roads and mosquitoes, this was a perfect place to
What a fantastic find on the Alaska Highway! Located just off the road, Carhahn offers a great dining experience. We tried the rolls, pastries, and quiche and everything was delicious. The prices were reasonable and the ingredients tasted fresh. We will definitely be stopping here again. It was a pleasant surprise to find a French bakery in such a remote location, but it was a delightful experience. Overall, we had a great time at Carhahn!
I had a cabin with 2 beds. It was quiet and clean. I would ask for a stronger lock on the door--maybe a deadbolt but otherwise it was great and economical. There is a bathroom and electricity in the cabin but no internet, so bring a book! I'd stay there again. The breakfast was delicious.
We stayed one night and ate here. We were the only ones in the campground. The owner yelled (yes yelled and quite loudly) at us twice. In both cases they were things that perhaps merited a comment or suggestion, but not yelling. I personally witnessed him yelling at two other customers while I was there. There may be a reason that no one camps here - you'll probably have more fun 2k down the road at the park campground or 30k at the Yukon Discovery.Owner should seriously look at taking some customer service training courses, or perhaps, change jobs into one where simple issues don't upset him so much.I won't bore you with the details of why we were yelled at but if you look around the place, you'll start to notice a massive number of "don't do this" signs. If you stop here, read these signs all very carefully - or risk the wrath of a very angry French man yelling at you. Too bad really as the food was good. We will not stop here next time through.
This little gem is well south of Beaver Creek between KM 1782 and 1784. It is right at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere but you can't miss it!It is owned by a charming French couple and everything is homemade and delicious.
