Le Clos Carnot - Beaune

Delicious escargots and desserts, nice wine list with old good Burgundy wines. Great atmosphère good food, a must visit in Burgundy

Very fortunately to book a table of 3 this Sunday over holidays weekend in this great quality restaurant. We ordered 2 escargot for starters, and my husband ordered poach eggs on white wine. Needless to say the poach eggs cook perfectly , once you break the eggs.. the golden yolks just melted into the Chardonnay sauce-, everything ate with spoon finished off with French bread around the bottom of the dish. Coq au Vin were all sold, we were the last table to be order . my husband order the duck breast 3rd meals on duck during this trip) It came with slices of juicy duck breast topped with the red wine sauce. Surprise still can taste the crispy skin! Large Escargot in the sauce which is not heavy but with the taste. Our daughter love her chicken dish which I did not manage to taste it) Overall the dining experience was great, food quality , fresh ingredients cook perfectly., were they key, we were all thumbs up then move on to the 2nd section of wine tour. One thing I have to say how amazing “the only front of the house lady- may be the chef’s wife) did a great job. Not an easy job to serve the whole restaurant one handed w/ drinks, food greeting guests with smiling face. She did it all- wonderful woman or even the chef behind

We asked to eat inside this restaurant in the form of a wide hallway where the staff would be able to serve the tables on the terrace, without much attention to the unknown guests of which we were. We took menus and enjoyed the contents of our plates but not at all the general atmosphere or rather the lack of atmosphere and warmth of this place that had yet been recommended to us. I put a special mention to the one that seemed to be the patron, to whom we asked for advice for the wines and who responded with a total indifference. We were three, we won't come back, there are fortunately a lot of beautiful restaurants!

Excellent brewery that I recommend to all in the historic center of Beaune for a formula to 25 euros report quality, price, unbeatable quantity.

Brasserie located on Carnot Square, friendly and smiling staff. Burger and shootamisu up! The plates are very well trimmed. I recommend this installation
