While some were disappointed with slow service, uncooked food, and unprofessional staff, others enjoyed delicious meals and accommodating service. The menu offers honest local food at a good price, with favorites such as fish and chips, lasagne, and steak burgers. Despite some shortcomings in menu availability and lack of vegetarian options, the staff were praised for their attentiveness, especially towards children. Overall, the restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience but has room for improvement in terms of service quality and menu options.
They have eaten here before lunch, so we could try tee time. at the arrival we were told that a third of the menu was not available, which gave us second thoughts about the stay. we were not told on Sunday roasts no steaks no burgers without heke no mockery strips that made us disappointed when we met the family and recommended we eat here
I have booked a table for 7 people around 19 clock online. I received an online confirmation as well as an email to confirm our booking. when we arrived, the employees said they had no record of the booking. the restaurant was only half full so that they could put us anyway. it was a Sunday and we had chosen the place, because their sunday roast was well sounded and served until 9 o'clock. When we sat down, we said they fled from Yorkshire puddings. within 10 minutes they came and took the Sunday menu away and said it was not available now, but we could still order from the standard menu. my mother in law asked if it was possible to swallow chips for kartoffeln with the torte and was said no, the kartoffelbrei portions were already assigned to other meal times. at this point we went. the personal tried to seem too sympathetic, but were annoyed when we left when they had poured out a few of the beverage order. the restaurant looked like a good place, it was a nice environment, but the menu was expensive and other diners could be heard complaining that they had waited a long time, although they were not busy. we were understandably really disappointed by all the experience.
Visited the Anglesey Arms for an anniversary meal. Waiting on staff clueless! When asked what is served with the chicken dish....she replied not much really! Seated at a table and then asked to move as it had been reserved. Table next to us waited 30 mins for rice pudding still uncooked when it finally arrived. Dining room staff need clear direction training and educating on the menu. The food was ok. Nothing special. Expected much better quality. Access to smoking area is right through the middle of the restaurant.... The Anglesey Arms are trying to do everything hotel restaurant pub sadly not very well.
The service was pleasant and thre food of a good standard pub style. There was a friendly busy atmosphere we would go again. Good value.
Very disappointed. I had heard very good reports before, but we haven’t been there for some time. the staff was nice, but the service was extremely slow to the point that it took about half an hour to serve, after a reminder, the “While you Wait” brot and codjaujons, the latter were huge pieces of cod in battery and more like a main course. they forgot to bring the water. no one seemed to be responsible for managing the personal, there were no signs for any maitre d’. it took age to arrive for the main course and desserts and when they arrived they were really not worth waiting. we will not go back when they improve.
