Ben , super resto menu from day to day, including glass of wine, nice decoration, quick and friendly staff! Very good sucrose with lentils, input, plate and excellent dessert. I'll come back to eat without surprises! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Grotte:
the frame is really nice and original. On the other hand, food is disappointing. bad cocktails and deplorable service. It is a Spanish family cuisine a priori. It's not bad, but it's very simple. View all feedback.
We loved this place. We got the menu of the day which was chicken with creamy tarragon sauce and some wonderful sides plus wine and an incredible apple tart all for 18 euros. The patio is gorgeous and the wonderful women who work there were such good hosts. As an American traveling in France this is exactly the kind of authentic and excellent restaurant that I was hoping to find. Merci La Grotte!
I visited this restaurant 10 years ago when it was a little family restaurant where the grandmother did all the cooking, local food. I was a vegetarian (now a pescatarian) which can make eating in France tricky but she went out of her way to give me something special, plus the vue looking up at the castle, amazing. So having returned to France 10 years on in a group of 15 (8 kids) we thought we would re-visit. We were not surprised to see it had changed less rustic more funky and modern both the decor and the food but thankful it isn't ruined. They were happy to seat all 15 of us in the garden looking up at the castle. Were also happy to sit the kids on there own and were fine with them getting up after they had eaten and moving around thankfully it is gated and secure. There was a decent cover band playing Beatle, Bowie, led zeppelin etc, etc who took requests and allowed the singer in our company to be their backing singer. The food was good but the wine and the cocktails great. So there was a lot of dancing by the end of the night. The photo's don't do it justice they don't capture the atmosphere. Food was lovely although not everyone was a fan of goats cheese ice cream. Only criticism the bear wasn't cold enough we had a great night as did the kids. If you are in that neck of the woods pay it a visit it will be worth th walk.
Waitress incompetent, not pleasant, forget the monarch of the order and when we let him know that we had the impression of having him remind at least 5 times what we were missing at the table, for the monkeys we ordered drinks and we had to throw the bottles ourselves with the knife because the waitress was not able to bring us a stallor despite several requests from us. She serves the dishes without presenting them to us she waits above our head with the plates not to tell her who are the dishes intended that she does not know her card. the map it is noted gambas and we are shrimps used. Too bad because the rest of the dishes are very good and the boss is very nice. I advise her to change her waitress because she might lose a lot of customers. for a table has almost 250 euros it is really limiting.
