Just my mom and I for an early dinner on a Sunday night and MCT makes it a special occasion for us. The staff is always so patient and courteous with her and we always enjoy our meals there View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mill Creek Tavern:
A tavern with a dining room off to the side. This is a strange layout. You enter the tavern, that smells like a tavern shuffle past the barflies to stand in the doorway of the dining room. White table clothes, glass water bottles, electric candle light a menu that unfortunately sounds better than it is. Pretzel dough with brie and a fig honey dip sounded just right. I'm not sure why I took the menu as gospel. If only... View all feedback.
This review is for yelp I don't like what you do my yelp reviews go to where it doesn't count that's how you treat me I don't like I won't use yelp any more I review base on taste and good wait staff I don't lie yelp just sucks I won't use yelp again
I went to a baby shower there. I dont know about these Yelp events? The restaurant is divided into three sections. The first is the bar, The there is bar seating and then there is a bigger room. For this event the bigger room was over crowded so we sat in the bar seating which was in my opinion so much more comfortable because of the booth like seating. The wait staff was personable and the food which was sleected by the hosts of the event was actually very good.
It's great. The food is delicious, attentive service and the atmosphere is casual. Would return.
It was a beautiful first day of Fall and the drive to Bayville for our YEE at Mill Creek Tavern was very pleasant and comforting. It was high tide and there were people rowing shells across the Bay....was a beautiful picture! Crossing the Bayville Bridge and getting to Main street we turned right and there immediately on the left is MCT! Parked and upon entering saw a few of our crew in a large back room. Found Drew, our illustrious CM blowing up balloons and laying out swag for our group. You could tell it was going to be a glorious evening with the bar with signature drinks in the corner of the room. I met Rich C,. The owner of MCT and also Mim's in Roslyn. I had the occasion to correspond with him after a Meetup at Mim's recently. He saw me and introduced himself and we talked about MCT. He is a wonderful host and really put his best foot and crew foward at this YEE. He even said that if we wanted drinks other than what was being served all we had to do was ask. We did and they did appear! So as not to repeat what all the other reviews are explaining, I will not go over each and everything served...as there was a long list on the special menu Rich put together for us exclusively! I will say though that I have never seen so many trays of food served at a YEE and it was alot! Not overkill cause we ate it all!!! My favorite was the huge jumbo shrimps served in a small cup over a red sauce loaded with horseradish!! Outstanding..... It was good to see so many newbies attending their first YEE! And of course the regulars that we look forward to seeing at each event. Kudos to Drew for arranging this incredible event and to Rich, the owner for welcoming us all with great vibes and great tastings...and drinks! Thanks and I personally am looking forward to returning to both of Rich's restaurants in the near future to enjoy his hospitality and food.
Attended my first Elite Yelp event at the Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. I attended other events as a plus one but this was better because now I was elite and I already knew some of the players like my friend Bill S who introduced me to this wonderful world of Yelp. What makes these events great to me are the friendly yelpers who attend with their honest fair reviews and most important is the generous hospitality of the restaurant owners. Once we arrived the Mill Creek Tavern Staff had everything prepared waiting for us. We started with their specialty drinks, Dark and Stormy, Pumpkin Ale and Sang-Rose with sorbet. My fav was the dark and stormy, Black Rum, Pumpkin Beer and Lime Juice. Then all the samples of food came out, Filet Mignon Crostini, Seafood Ceviche, Mussels Provençale, Sauerbraten Short Rib Sliders, Jager Schnitzel Sliders, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Mac Cheese, Brat in a Blanket, Pretzel Baked Brie, Burrata Crostini, Shrimp Cocktail and Artichoke Risotto Cakes. There was so much to choose from, It was like cocktail hour at a weeding and the food just kept coming. Then desert, I was already full at this point but of course had to try. Berries Cream, Chocolate Mouse, Mini Purple Cow Floats and Mini Brownie Sundays. All were delicious. The event went fast, everyone was enjoying themselves socializing, eating and experiencing great service. The staff didn't miss a beat, they just kept coming out with food being efficient, friendly and courteous, even the owner Rich came out and not only served food he also mingled with us speaking to everyone and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a great time seemed to be had by all. I know a lot goes into this planning one of theses events. I am grateful for the Rich, the owner for opening up his restaurant to us, the staff for just great services and to Drew for organizing this. Mill Creek Tavern is a great place to eat, not only is the food really good, the décor is very pleasing, they even have a fireplace. One can enjoy this restaurant year round. I will return and would definitely recommend dining here.
