Bread Art is a fantastic restaurant! The staff, pastries, and baked goods are all top-notch and amazing. They offer delicious cakes, pastries, bread, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and more! We are thankful for the owners and their contributions to the community. We tried the adorable Frog Small Cake, which was delicious even though we accidentally squished it on the way home. We also enjoyed the new mango drink, which was very tasty.
Always a great option for freshly baked cookies or bread. The staff is not very friendly and the selection can sometimes be a confusing mix, but if you are flexible, it is great. If you want to order a delicious cake, this is definitely the place to go!
Cheese kolachy* or cheese danish for some. Dynamite good.Bakers at this place are above and beyond. Lots of good bread (tho I don't eat it but if looks are any indication! . Tons on individual goodies like donuts and sweet rolls. Cookies like Mom makes and 8x8 containers of bars to bring to a party or a get together.Parking is limited but worth scrounging around. Between a gas station and a liquor store on the east side of the street. Signage could be better but word of mouth seems to keep this place jumping. *A kolach is a type of sweet pastry that holds a portion of fruit surrounded by puffy dough. It is made from yeast dough and common flavors include fruit jam, cream cheese and poppy seeds. Originating as a semisweet pastry from Central Europe.
We ordered about 20 six-inch cakes to use as centerpieces and desserts for our wedding. Our caterer sliced each cake into eight pieces, which turned out to be the perfect portion size for our guests. We received countless compliments on the cakes, including from my notoriously picky grandmother. We chose almond buttercream frosting for all the cakes to match our white color scheme, but I highly recommend the dark chocolate frosting for chocolate lovers. Heather was a pleasure to work with. She offered a tasting in Bayport, answered all our questions, and provided fantastic recommendations to help bring our vision to life. Communication via email was smooth, and the cakes were delivered to our venue on time. The pricing at Bread Art was significantly more affordable than other bakeries near the Twin Cities, and Heather did not inflate her prices just because it was a wedding. I would definitely order from Bread Art again for future celebrations such as anniversaries or birthdays.
This bakery and café is truly delightful! Although I usually pick up something to go on my way, I would love to sit down and savor a coffee and pastry there someday. They have a wonderful selection of unique offerings, including sweet breads, standard loaves, donuts, Danishes, cakes, and pies. I really appreciate the variety, the convenient location, and the inviting atmosphere. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the prices for small items like donuts, muffins, Danishes, and rolls seem a bit higher than at other bakeries I often visit.
