What Nadine K doesn't like about Tsar':
Simply amazing! They serve fresh, perfectly cooked food, and the ambience as well as the service are spot on! The menu is adequate for our needs and the starters are usually served without any delays, followed immediately by the main order. This is now one of my favorite restaurants. Recommended. Authentic Russian cuisine interlaced with a warm and historic setting. To match and enjoy such food, the restaurant staff do a fabulous job of assistance, with historic annotations. Definitely worth visiting!
Quite touristy but great nonetheless. Food is excellent and high grade Russian style. Wine is very expensive by the bottle but a glass of house wine is a reasonable 220 roubles $3.50). Be careful to order local water rather than expensive imports. The beef stroganoff was very good indeed. Saturday night had a small singing dance troop, in amongst the diners which is fun and a bit interactive. The toilets are special, remember to take your phone for a selfie! Total cost for 2 came to 6340 roubles $100) including wine and beer.
Very luxurious restaurant with a high price. Beef Stroganoff is a must try. Also visit yhe WC to laugh
Food was good, not superb. Waiter was okay. I liked Dr Zhivago restaurant in Moscow way better. This one is on the pricier side for Russia. 3 adults and 2 kids totalled $120 without alcohol and caviar.
My whole family really enjoyed the ambiance and décor of this place! There was also a surprise performance of people in traditional Russian dress, singing and dancing, which was cool! The salads and pancakes were yum!!! Though the potato and bacon pancake was a lot like a hashbrown so that one wasn't really anything special. The chicken Kiev was amazing! You must eat it with the sauce, it compliments it so well! The wait staff were friendly but our waiter recommended us a dish that we didn't enjoy (sturgeon with mashed potatoes). The grilled halibut looked like much the better dish. The portion sizes are quite decent, unlike the other fine dining place we tried (cococo). The main reason I am not giving the restaurant five stars is that the duck dish I ordered was tough, chewy and possibly under/over cooked. We a spat it out and was the only dish we couldn't finish.
