Fancied something different so chose to eat here. A good menu, beers are bottled rather than draught. The set menu was a decent price but we had other ideas and ordered off the menu. The standard of the food was very good and we enjoyed it. Yes, the service was slow as we only saw the one lady in attendance but we were on holiday so what's the rush. What ruskinleaf doesn't like about Chang-hai:
It's hard to be too critical of the lady who was running this restaurant single-handedly. Front of house, service, serving drinks and cooking. Hardly surprising then that everything was slow and food was delivered as she had finished preparing it and occasionally fulfilling drinks orders in between. The food was well priced and pleasant enough, neither outstanding nor poor. On the plus side we will remeber this exper... View all feedback.

We were excited about this place from the moment we arrived in Bayeux. The ambiance was authentic and the restaurant was spotless. We were greeted with a giant friendly smile. We ordered the shrimp chop suey and glazed duck with the house cocktail. It was SOO delicious and flavorful. The portion sizes were small, but plentiful. Our stomach’s couldn’t handle anymore food by the end. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing Chinese food. Make sure you start with the house cocktail it will give you a great taste of whats to come.
Wandering 5 minutes away from the cathedral in Bayeux to avoid the crowds, we found this authentic Chinese restaurant. It was very quiet, too quiet considering the food was excellent as was the service. If you need a break from pizza, crepes etc this might be a good choice.
It’s an old looking Chinese restaurant, we were there around 8.30 pm and it was quiet on a Wednesday evening. No fuss service, selection of food is average but the taste is promising especially the ginger beef, wanton soup and even pork chap suey. Didn’t like the sweet and sour pork. Fried rice was good too. Overall, it’s a decent Chinese restaurant in this part of the world, rating as a Chinese from Singapore
