The country store is loaded with all kinds of goodies and gift ideas for all ages. The restaurant was pretty busy, and our server didn't spend much time with us. They were polite, just busy. The food was delicious too!! View all feedback.
What Royce Dickinson doesn't like about Cracker Barrel Old Country Store:
Unfortunately my experience was not great. Our food came out almost 10 minutes apart. Pancakes were so hard I couldn’t cut with my fork. Representation of food was also poor. Look how sad the photos look. Now our server was GREAT and that the only reason its 2 stars. Quality has dropped and they need to refocus on that. View all feedback.
The prices are very reasonable given the generous portions you receive, so you definitely won't leave feeling hungry. The staff is not only friendly but also very helpful; I've seen them assist families with children, babies, seniors, and accommodate individuals in wheelchairs. Although the restaurant can get busy, it never feels overwhelming or understaffed. After your meal, you'll pass through a charming General Store to pay for your dinner, which filled with interesting merchandise! There are often great deals on various games, and you can find handcrafted sodas and some unique candies as well. Plus, there's a lovely covered porch with swings and tables to relax at after your meal. It’s a delightful experience all around! If you haven't visited a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store yet, you won't be disappointed!
Cracker Barrel consistently offers high-quality food at each of its locations. Their breakfast and dinner selections are excellent. The grilled catfish is outstanding, as is the fried version. Their dishes truly capture the authentic flavors of the South, reminiscent of meals my grandmother used to make. They've managed to keep their prices reasonable compared to many other restaurants during the recent pandemic and supply shortages. They definitely deserve an A!
Cracker Barrel is consistently a fantastic spot for hot, delicious comfort food served in generous portions! It’s our go-to restaurant during road trips, and it seldom lets us down. On this visit, I had the Southern Fried Chicken, which was piping hot, crispy, and juicy. All the sides were tasty, and I really enjoyed their new Sugar Plum Tea! The service was a bit sluggish this time, and I wish their take-out boxes were larger and non-divided. One of my chicken breasts was so large that it barely fit inside the box!
Only 4 stars because it took a long time to get to the table. I suppose. Other than that, great experience and good food. Friendly staff. Value for quality was pretty good. Price was about $10 per person for what we ordered (we were group of 12).
Waiter was super friendly, and I noticed he went out of his way for an elderly female who came in to dine alone by sitting with her and chatting. Our table was super close to the one beside us but it wasn't terrible. The food was warm, chicken was juicy. Not a bad visit to cracker barrel while traveling home from Chicago.
