The service from our waitress was excellent. All our meals were delicious...from the oysters Kirkpatrick to the squid ink linguine, as well as the kids meals, there were no complaints. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Birdsong:
disappointing experience overall. beautiful decoration, but not in ambiente. they dive the lights and play music so it feels less like a cafeteria. steak was clearly frozen and cooked. I had to refill our own weeping. no offer of brot or foam water. the staff disappeared and we had to wait 10 minutes to find someone who paid at the end of the meal. might be great, but it might be very short. The food at this restaurant is exceptional. The staff is very polite, but they were severely understaffed on New Year's Eve. This resulted in a long wait for our food.
The squid was cooked to perfection, with a buttery and amazing taste. The dumplings were fresh and delicious. The pork ribs were also amazing. The staff provided a bowl for the bones and a finger bowl, which was very thoughtful. The potatoes could have used a sauce. However, my partner ordered the eye fillet medium rare but it came out overcooked (without any pink or juice), which was disappointing. We still ate it though. The cocktails were fantastic. The server was wonderful and attentive, quickly clearing plates without being intrusive. Having the restaurant to ourselves made our date feel romantic and high-end, and the staff not standing around hovering made the experience more special.
Amazing customer service and amazing food. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was mouth watering no need for a knife, so tender. I would definitely recommend this place.
A very nice spot with great food and extremely friendly staff. Also a great bar just before you enter the restaurant if you choose to have a few beverages before hand.
Second time to Birdsong and I have to say I think this is one of Hobarts really nice restaurants. The recent makeover is a vast improvement and creates quite enclaves in which to dine. It is no longer a wide open space as some restaurants are which generally makes them very noisy. The food is excellent, well presented and flavorsome. The inhouse baked bread for appetizers is brilliant. I originally thought it must have been from Pidgeon Hole but no it is baked freshly inhouse. The wait staff are very pleasant, polite and very attentive without being obtrusive. We dined as a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed their meals. Once again hats off to Chefs and front of house staff.
