Tried this place out because multiple people recommended it to me! I think it was really good and the staff was really nice. The crunchy roll was honestly sooo good. The food did take a bit long but it was good food so I can't complain! It was a good aura for friends to come out to eat for a bite! View all feedback.
What Chris doesn't like about Wahada Japanese Sushi Grill:
The good... Hibachi rice was excellent. Also, I've never seen noodles cooked on the hibachi table before, but they did it here. The bad... Rest of the hibachi dinner was moderate. Most of the food had a funny taste, not really spoiled, but not the freshest. We also tried several rolls, most were fair, but really nothing stood out. View all feedback.
The positives... The hibachi rice was outstanding. Additionally, I was impressed that they cooked the noodles right on the hibachi table, something I hadn't seen before. The negatives... The rest of the hibachi dinner was just average. Most of the food had a peculiar taste—not spoiled, but definitely not fresh. We also tried several sushi rolls; while they were decent, nothing really stood out.
I ordered the Amanda Roll and the Salmon Avocado Roll. The Amanda Roll was huge and absolutely fantastic, while the Salmon Avocado Roll was also delicious, fresh, and a good size. Both rolls together cost $21, which is a great deal considering that many specialty rolls at restaurants in BR cost that much or even more. I love my usual sushi places, but this was both affordable and tasty! I placed my order over the phone, and it was ready within ten minutes. The staff member I spoke with was very friendly, making the entire process smooth. When I arrived to pick up my takeout, I noticed that it didn’t seem like a place where many people dine in. There were tables, but the ambiance was dimly lit and it was completely empty. I probably wouldn’t sit down to eat there, but I would definitely return for some quality takeout sushi! If you’re looking for a quick, convenient, and delicious sushi option for dinner, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
I ordered takeout, choosing the chicken teriyaki, a temporary roll, and a snow crab roll. While I appreciated the low price, the quality was quite disappointing. The chicken was overcooked and lacked flavor, merely drizzled with sweet teriyaki sauce. The vegetables were also unseasoned and mushy. However, the accompanying soup and salad were decent. The snow crab roll had a slightly fishy taste but was otherwise acceptable. Unfortunately, the temporary roll was soggy. Later that evening, both my wife and I felt a bit unwell.
I placed a phone order, and the person who took my call was friendly and attentive. The egg rolls were the best I've had in a while from a restaurant, and I will definitely return for them. The New Orleans roll was good, but I think it would have been even better without the flying fish roe. Since I had never tried it before, that’s partly on me. While they didn't have much flavor, the texture was the main issue for me. The roe had a boba-like consistency but was crunchier. The special sweet sauce was tasty, but I think it would work better as a dipping sauce rather than poured over the roll. The roll itself had a nice little kick that I really enjoyed. I'm looking forward to coming back to try something new or to give the New Orleans roll another chance without the flying fish roe.
