What Krystle A doesn't like about The Chimes East:
I would have given them a zero if that were an option. The drinks were unpleasant, the food was just warm, and our waitress, Lauren, made quite a mess of our bill. It... View all feedback.

For the first time in Louisiana, first stop for food and no disappointment at all! Everything was delicious! Thank you, Jackie, for making our experience great. We appreciate your attentive and sweet service!
I spent a few days in Baton Rouge on my way to Texas and wanted to experience some classic Creole cuisine. After talking to two locals, they both recommended going to Chimes East as a place. After I was out in the heat all day, I decided to go my food would be my best bet. Despite the fact that they were busy my food was fast and even though I am sure presentation would have been much more attractive if I had groomed, I can not even begin to rave about this food enough. Pure comfort is the best way I can describe it. Food that simply melts in the mouth with wonderful, complex spices that really speak with the local cuisine. I decided to get more than a few things so I could get a good mix of different dishes. I ordered Gator bits that were well seasoned and phenomenal. The Hushpuppies had a nice kick of spices without being excessively spicy and were fried with a beautiful crispy outside and soft inside. The Gumbo and the Etouffe, OH MY GOD, absolutely addictive, I can literally not even describe how wonderful they were both. I made sure to finish the meal with some bread pudding that was the perfect final for such a wonderful southern meal. I will definitely make a return trip here on my way to Florida!
Quick review great restaurant! Clean with great cajun food with good prices. Highly recommend. Long Review amazing restaurant. It is 100% worth the visit. Food is delicious and great portions. If I had to nitpick to find anything about the food that wasn't wonderful it would be it was slightly saltier than I normally eat. Not that is was over salted but rather my personal pallette found it just a pinch more than i normally taste. Didn't detract from the flavors. Their gator bites and duck and sausage gumbo are perfection. Mac and cheese and loaded fries are divine. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Kayla are waitress made the visit very pleasant. Restaurant is decorated in a nice casual kinda way and very very clean. I stopped from another state and I am so happy I did. Wonderful Cajun food great staff priced great. Loved it.
The Gumbo was delicious! So were the crab fingers...fried or sautéed they both were good! Love the red beans Rice as well. Let's not forget the great drinks! Even if it's not on the drink menu, ask your server they will make it for you!
