What Ashley Johnson doesn't like about Sushi Yama:
The Volcano Roll was greasy and not enjoyable. When we brought the issue to the manager, he was extremely rude and informed us that if we wanted to return it, the cost would come out of the waitress's pay. It is unacceptable to put customers and employees in that position. I will not be returning to this restaurant and advise others to avoid it as well. Food: 1/5. View all feedback.
A mere thank you can go a long way not “no problem” yes I certainly hope ordering food from your restaurant is “not a problem”. The hours listed are not firm. The kitchen will close as it sees fit. Food is good for the most part (miso soup sometimes is sour, which is a sure sign it’s gone bad) good food never makes up for rude service never
Sushi's okay but y'all need to get your menu right. Imitation crab is not the same thing as snow crab, so you shouldn't list stuff as having snow crab when it's really just the fake mashed up white fish.
Overall, great place! Cucumber salad they give you when you sit is really good. Would definitely recommend the sashimi. The sampler was tasty and would order it again. The eel roll wasn’t all that great, it tasted a little flavorless, so I wouldn’t order that again necessarily. It also fell apart very easily, making it difficult to eat. The roll that was equivalent to a California roll was very, very good. Pineapple sake was easy to drink and had a good after taste. Nice pineapple bites for “dessert” served last and was tasty as well. Server was attentive and kind! Would come again and try some new rolls.
The food was great! Really enjoyed the generous portions and high quality fish. Would return for sure!Food: 5/5
NEW FAVORITE SPOT!!My first time at Yama was a 10/10 experience. I had the V Roll and and it literally MELTS in your mouth absolutely my new favorite roll in Baton Rouge. The other one behind the Vroll is the Okinawa roll which was simple but good. Abe was our server and he was the best! So patient, helpful and suggestive. He took great care of my dad grandma and myself. He made sure everything was go our liking and even brought us some fresh pineapple after our meal! I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to try the Atlantic Salmon next!
