Contribute FeedbackStroubes has received mixed reviews lately. Many customers have complained about poor service, with long wait times and lukewarm food. The redfish dish was particularly disappointing. Despite these issues, some diners have enjoyed the upscale ambiance and delicious entrees like the pork chop and alligator cheesecake. The standout experience at Stroubes seems to be the exceptional service from waitstaff like Zach, who made one couple's meal special. The restaurant offers a great wine selection and delicious dishes like the filet and warm Brie. Overall, opinions on Stroubes are divided, with some patrons praising the experience while others were left disappointed.
When I celebrated my birthday yesterday, which is today, and I must say the food is amazing! Our survivor, Willow, was AWESOME! She was very tender and knowledgeable for all her eating and drinking items! She proposed a couple of things to us since we had never eaten there. Willow, you're great, and we'll be back! Thank you for the excellent service!
Alligator cheesecake! What? The beef Bouruignon was so tender that it had to be shaken with the fork. It was too tender to put only one fork in it and pick it up. And this rum in the bread pudding! I don't even like bread pudding and I could do it again. It's too bad I have to go all the way to Baton Rouge to eat in Stroubes. This restaurant would be good everywhere.
After opening this for lunch I had to check the market price for Gulf of Mexico shrimp 14.99/lb 6 to 8 shrimp or so . This dish left a lot to be desired. I won't complain about the sauce, just because it wasn't pleasing to MY palate. The shrimp were a bit overcooked and the texture of the grits was very rustic ? . Too rustic as if the corn was ground with one passing and then the grits were parboiled and served. To my surprise, even with all the sauce, the dish managed to leave my mouth dry. It seems like I should've given this a lower rating, but it was clean and the hostess was nice.
The restaurant was nearly empty when I visited midweek. I ordered the NOLA shrimp, which had a decent amount of flavor but a tad bit too much salt. The salmon dish was decent but seemed slightly undercooked. Avoid the Brussels sprouts at all cost; completely bland and flavorless. Service was efficient and friendly.
Bread tasted alright Crawfish beignets tasted great! Very creamy and juicy. Easily the best thing I ate at this restaurant. Braised short ribs meat was cooked well. Brussel sprouts seemed a little overcooked. The white thing tasted ok, but overall the dish was not as good as I was hoping. Stroubes burger the fries tasted great. My partner didn't like the pork on the burger, but the burger seems alright. Overall it was good, but I probably wouldn't come again. I thought food would be better for how expensive it wasm
