Super solid soul food spot in Baton Rouge. When I went they were only doing takeout orders. Not an issue, I was only staying about three minutes away. All the food was fresh and very flavorful. I do wish the cornbread was just a little more moist, but other than that everything was excellent. Their sweet potato pie was some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What Vincent Morebucks doesn't like about Josie's Creole Kitchen:
The restaurant was buying far very laid back, and I did like the aesthetic of the place, but the food that was available wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Special River City event downtown near the Stste Capitols, City Hall, Riverwalk, and the Mississippi River. Southern Charming Owner and Staff.
The restaurant was buying far very laid back, and I did like the aesthetic of the place, but the food that was available wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting a little more Louisiana Fair beyond just a few seafood plates. The seafood is not too bad, although I did find it a bit salty, but then again I always prefer a little less salt to my food than most people. The largest reason why I put the star rating so low is because I saw someone walk to the back kitchen and when they came back I thought they were the waitress as they were the only person I had seen for a while and gave her my order. I only found out a bit after that that she was not. Wasn't sure how to feel about that, but I don't think that was enough to absolutely ruin this location necessarily.
Friendly staff great food I ordered 2 Fried Chicken Plates it comes with three sides and three wings flavored to perfection
Maybe it was an off day but the red beans and rice were terrible , the fried fish and spaghetti were pretty good.
