Very nice place to eat and visit. The food was excellent as the service. Salmon on plank and spaghetti were excellent. I would recommend reservations for dinner. We were there when it opened and when we left, it was filled. Appropriate parking and accessible to disabled persons. Also visit Harper men's clothing next door? very nice clothing and accessories. What Paul Bailey doesn't like about French Market Bistro:
Hard to find in parking lot with a sign that I thought would be more visible. Food prices a little above the quality of food provided for some items. Great staff and service, enjoyed the red fish and scallops very much!Food: 3/5 View all feedback.
A must in Baton Rouge! Flavorful food with amazing taste. Great atmosphere along with top animal customer service. The oyster grill in the restaurant is the perfect environment. The oysters are a must because they ate Fantastic. Enjoy and tell? Jimmy P says hello:
We went here for a birthday celebration and unfortunately it was mediocre and not worth the prices. The food was served warm but not hot and the temperature was wrong on the filets with them being over cooked. One person ordered the ribeye and it had more fat that meat. Of all the food we ate in our party the best things were the bread and butter and the grits which says alot. The food was ok but the steaks especially were dissapointing for the price point especially when compared to other area restaurants. The two martinis I had were delicious. I ordered cheesecake for dessert to go and I was very surprised to see that it appeared to be two layers but the top layer was almost an inch of plain cream cheese which was very strange and disappointing. The service was slow and it took a very long time to get our checks correct and paid. I personally can not recommend this restaurant. My meal cost over $100 but the food and service would have been better at Outback or any other lower cost alternative. The ambiance was nice and we had a private room but it did not make up for the food at all. Not a single person in our party said they would come back or recommend to others. Edited review just add the picture I had of that sad excuse of a cheesecake.
This is a lovely restaurant to dine at and explore. The food and service were both excellent. The salmon on a plank and the spaghetti were standout dishes. I highly recommend making dinner reservations, as the place filled up quickly after we arrived at opening time. There is sufficient parking available, and the venue is accessible for individuals with disabilities. Don’t forget to check out Harper Men’s Clothing next door—it's a great spot for clothing and accessories!
French Market Bistro is a solid spot with a great atmosphere and tasty food. Their crab cakes and pork chops are lovely, bursting with flavor, and seasoned to perfection. We also ordered duck and shrimp egg rolls, which came with a tangy mustard-flavored sauce. The service is friendly, and the portions are generous. The dessert was a surprise; we loved the fruit tart. The servers were very quick with amazing service. The prices are okay, considering the food and ambiance. But hey, make sure you make the reservations before you go, as you might not find a place during the peak hours. You can also book it for a small party celebration as they have a room for that. Summing up, it's a great place with nice service and food.
This is an excellent restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. While the menu is somewhat limited, all the dishes are well-prepared. There are a few fusion options that creatively incorporate Asian or Latin ingredients. The staff is very attentive to guests' needs. I rated it four stars primarily because the prices are a little on the high side. Food: 5/5
