I only recently tried Cafe Amercain after hearing about it several times from a friend. Now after having eaten here a few times, I hesitate to write a review, only because this is one of those hidden Jems you like to keep all to your self. The pancakes are excellent. As much as I love cafe american, was I very disappointed? in them tonight my usual Alfredo Pasta ordered with extra sauce? got my movie ready and waited for my food to arrive, especially it was a half the cup, it was dry and looked overcooked, the container was dirty and I was broken? but on a good note, the lemon icebox cake was absolutely delicious? as always, thanks and have a great Halloween weekend? There were many choices on the menu. The food was great. It was very well seasoned and very large portions. The service of Dusty was the best and one of the highlights of the experience!!! She was very attentive and it was no need.
The service is great. The amount of food was not expected. That was my first time I was groundless. One of the cheaper groundless brunchspots $5.50) in BR. I wasn't here during a busy time, so I wouldn't know if I phoned after reservations. I would recommend early, like 11:00. I ordered a shrimp and grits a la carte and it was huge! Didn't even eat it. The pancakes were flavored and fluffy. definitely recommend go.
Always have loved this place, great food, great atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly friendly and mindful of their masks. 100% recommended.
My group recently had a rehearsal dinner here. The food was excellent along with the service. The owner and his entire staff was friendly, professional and accommodating to some our special needs. As an event planner I've dealt with many establishments. Cafe Americain is by far my preferance.
Baton Rouge Brat-Rind-Pöschen are a hit or miss, but Café Americain nails it. Your elastic is also great.
