La Contea is in our neighborhood and we don't get there often. Last night we went to celebrate our life and enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Our waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. He even saw the camera on our table and offered to take our picture. On the weekends, there is live piano music which adds to the experience. View all feedback.
What 784carr doesn't like about A Whitty Enterprises:
The chicken eggplant was grizzly and soggy, as if it had been rewarmed. The prosciutto tasted spoiled to me. I asked the waitress not to bring that manager, but she did anyway, The manager was unpleasant and told us “that’s the way it supposed to taste. There’s nothing wrong with the prosciutto.” We won’t be back. View all feedback.
We stopped by last wednesday. And maybe it was the day after Mardi Gras. the place was empty. I mean literally we were the only diners at around 8:15 PM. We ordered a couple of bottles of Good Silver Oak wine. The service was very good and gracious. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu and was also there to check on us, top our glasses, water, etc. The food ranged from okay to good. The aracini was average, the cheese and meat plate was very good. my lobster pasta was pretty good. My buddies had a risotto which was not great and another friend had an eggplant dish which was also not good. Another person in our group had fish and he liked his food. Dont know if it was an off day with the kitchen chef since the the restaurant was so empty but some items were very good and some were just blah.

We chose La Contea on a Friday evening after reading good reviews. Thankfully, I had read that there was no dress code, as we felt out of place when we entered wearing casual clothing and was greeted by the appearance of a finer dining establishment. We arrived around 7:30pm and were seated immediately. Everyone was very friendly, kind, and professional. A pianist played tastefully throughout. Our food was delicious and came in a timely manner. Our waitress was excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too overstimulating.
Food was great and waitress was excellent. Quiet dining is always a plus for us. Had the chicken parmigiana
