The Packhorse pub in South Stoke was reopened in March 2018 as a Freehouse, maintaining its original character. Our team of chefs with a great cooking pedigree serve beautiful fresh food, including a menu of classic British dishes with modern twists. Enjoy the stunning views of the countryside from our fully landscaped garden. Parking is limited, but you can take a lovely short walk from the main Midford Rd into the village. If you have trouble booking, please give us a call and we'll assist you.

Fantastic to sit outside the best pub in the world for the first time, as it opens again. The food was really good as the beer and the ambience was of course unbeatable.
This is a great place with a beautiful atmosphere. The pub was beautifully restored and the garden is beautiful. Sunday roasts were delicious and the service was very friendly.
We had a nice late Sunday dinner with very good customer service. The roasts were very good, but the puddings were shop-bought and not good.
It was fantastic to finally sit outside at the best pub in the world since it reopened. The food was delicious, the beer was great, and the atmosphere was unbeatable.
