I came here for dinner on a Saturday night with my friend for dinner. We had a Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup each for starter and Spring Rolls, and two Panang curries with rice for the main course. The food tasted delicious and very fresh and we really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and kind. What Harry dislikes about Thai Basil:
Attractive interior and tables not too close together. Food portions rather mean and request to tone down the chilli was ignored . Wine inferior and therefore expensive at over and above £22 per bottle. I would give it 5 out of 10 overall View all feedback.

Great Thai food served by friendly Thai proprietors.

We went for dinner on Saturday night as we fancied Thai while we were away for the weekend.
We are trying to get all 2nd or 3rd week to thai basil. eating is excellent service is also. I recommend it very much if you love Thai eating as we are

We loved the food here and the service was also excellent. We were surprised how quiet it was for a Friday night but were told they only had us booked in and they do a lot of takeaways. It’s a shame as the restaurant is visibly lovely, with lots of traditional Thai style furniture and decorations. Anyway, it was certainly one of the best Thai meals we’ve had so we would recommend it to anyone and it’s very close to the centre of Bath.
I decided to pay this place a visit due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor. Initial impressions were great. Lovely looking restaurant and the guy looking after the restaurant was very friendly and chatty. I ordered a Pad Ka Pow Pork but unfortunately the pork was very fatty and the whole dish lacked much taste or spice. Maybe I picked the wrong dish or they were having a bad day but it just wasn’t up to scratch.
We have visited Thai Basil twice now and throughly enjoyed it both times. The food was absolutely incredible, so much flavour and plenty of choice on the menu. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are amazing. The waiter who served us was great; very attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back again soon! Thank you!
Went to Thai Basil with a group of work friends. Had a great time, service was excellent and the food was brilliant. Being a group we couldn’t all decide what to have. Alex gave us a range of dishes from the menu for us to share that he suggested and it was perfect. Absolutely stunning food. We had a great meal and we will definitely be going back.
Beautiful food, we wasn’t sure what to have, but the owner advised us very well. The service was quick and the price was very responsible. Best meal out I have had in years.

First time had visited a Thai restaurant and tried Thai food. Food was excellent very tasty and hot when served flavours and texture were amazing. Service was very quick, staff very friendly, polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.

Bit sad to write this. Was not a great meal. Deliberately chose to support a local independent rather than a chain. Was v quiet. Great menu and lots of specials. Waiting staff very friendly and efficient. Food was just v average. Crackers tasted refried, fish cakes were tiny and tasted frozen. Lots of pineapple .. even in the rice.. Other food was serviceable and edible but we left a lot and not cos we weren't hungry. I hope it was just an off night because I really want these kind of places to stay open. Must be **** tough running a restaurant at the moment and for that reason I would return to give it a second chance despite the somewhat underwhelming initial experience.

Everything we ordered from the menu was delicious. The service attentive, friendly and interested in our opinions and requirements. We'll certainly be back.

My husband and I had our wedding anniversary dinner here and it was incredible! The table was decorated for us and we had a complimentary Prosecco! The food was served hot and delicious and the staff were incredible. Would 100% recommend!
