Was Isabelle F at Acorn a mag?
My boyfriend and I have been traveling in the UK and Europe over the past couple of months and Oak has been one of our favorite restaurants yet. All of the plates we had were absolutely delicious with unique flavor combinations coming through. The chickpea fries were top-tier! View all feedback.

Probably the best vegan meal I had in my life. Such a great combination of flavours. Who needs meat when food tastes like this?
Very disappointed with the food. Bland, not much flavour. Expected more, especially for price. I've paid a lot less at other veg restaurants and had fantastic food. Wine was great best part of meal.

We were looking for a light bite, and stumbled across Oak. I’ve never been to a vegetarian restaurant before and only went here by accident but what a result. The flavours, textures and choice along with the excellent selection of wines, blew my mind. If you enjoy food, then I’d recommend in a heartbeat.
Absolutely amazing food and wonderful service. Unfortunately I do not live in Bath but I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Everything was incredibly flavorful and very interesting combination of ingredients.
Certainly one of the best restaurants with amazing vegan dishes that I’ve had throughout my foodie adventure. Great ethics of the owners (do check out their IG), attentive staff, nice and cosy atmosphere, beautiful platings, creative and delicious dishes! What could I ask more?

I may have had one of the best meals of my life today. Every. Single. Dish. Every one was perfect. Well balanced. This was a totally unexpected experience when it comes to the quality and flavor profiles. My only criticism, which now feels somewhat petty given the culinary experience, is they don’t do the five course meal option for single diners (it is meant for two or more). So, I created my own and they adjusted the bill and portion sizes accordingly. This was a pleasant surprise and I am glad they did because I would have felt awful to waste any of it. This place is a gem. Eat here. You wil not regret it.
With some trepidation I guilted my carnivore traveling companion into joining me for lunch at Acorn. She was also hesitant it was to be her fist time in a vegetarian restaurant. We were both pleasantly surprised. It's certainly the best meal we had in Bath. To start we shared sourdough bread with olive oil and dukkah, all delicious, and then the squash three ways and the smoked field mushrooms as our mains. The squash dish was slightly underwhelming, though the ricotta gnudi were excellent. Our expectations were exceeded for the mushroom dish, not only the smoked mushrooms but also the mushroom walnut pate. My friend was obsessed with it and I ended up giving half to her out of kindness not desire. Service was also very good, and the decor was charming. Definitely check out the ancient Celtic cross in the lowest level that was found on the site, such a cool story.
Demuth's was bought by its own chef and renamed to Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen, keeping all the ideals in tow. I ate at Demuth's a couple years ago and the starter alone was probably one of the best thing I had ever eaten. A simple plate of pickles left me flabbergasted. I can't believe the rest of the meal (while great , did not stand up to those pickles. Even my omnivore partner was amazed with everything. So I was very excited to go back. Even with the ownership handover, I was not disappointed. We went with the three course specials which were very nice indeed, but this time the highlight was the dessert. I shared the tiniest slice of salted chocolate tart (and ate my words, any more and it would have been too much! . And had vegan almond ice cream with poached apricots and the most amazing almond biscotti I've ever had. I asked the server if there was anyway we could buy some for takeaway. He snuck a few wrapped in foil up for us! He got a big tip. *Make reservations *Great easy location *Good ambiance *Incredible food *Great for a special meal out I just want to thank this restaurant for existing. And as you can see from the other reviews, you don't have to be vegetarian to be knocked out by the food. So, yes, plan your day out in Bath and make sure to go to Acorn!
Acorn is on a quiet street only a step away from the center and the tourist attraction of the Roman baths. Knowing how popular Acorn is I made a reservation and had a lovely table in the front of the restaurant. As it was Sunday I elected to do the 'Sunday Roast '. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Please observe. Excellent presentation and sensational taste. The service was prompt and friendly. My table was cozy and I felt very at ease during my meal.
First of all, I’m a full on carnivore…however, the vegan dishes at Oak were absolutely delicious! Quirky interiors, great service, very interesting wine pairings and food to die for! The highlight by far was the smoked celeriac and apple soup such an interesting flavour profile and absolutely delightful. The leeks and the artichokes were also exceptionally good. Couldn’t recommend enough.
